Any tips before I go out into the world of Straight Dope?
Preview is your friend, in fact the only way I finally managed to learn how to do proper hyperlinks was by trial and error and preview. Oh, and the image code is turned off. Too many people were posting copyrighted images, and posting huge images. Or doing both. Plus, it really puts a strain on our overburdened server, and the pair of hamsters that run it. Yes, we have TWO hamsters now, not just one!
Is there any way to make the “Show Signature” button checked by default instead of having to click it every time?
Not at the present time, no. Yes, it’s more of a hassle for you to check the box every time, but it’s better for the system, all them sig files add up. (We want you to think before you automatically load more stuff on the system.) And we hope you understand.

Oh, so that was what was causing all the crashes? When somebody posted a link, or even worse an image, and they had to come out and dance? :eek:
