How do link to a specific post in a thread?

It’s in the title, really. How do I link to a specific post halfway down the page or whatever?

Not to sound stupid… but where did you get the post number?

I usually hover my cursor over the edit or quote buttons and at the bottom of your browser it’ll mention the url and at the end you’ll find the post id.
