Just wondering if anyone here knows some of the method behind creating, developing, selling, and producing a cooking show.
For instance, do you need to write a treatment for the program?

Who, besides Food Network would you try to shop it to?

Aside from the Food Network, PBS is the main place for cooking shows. Talk to the production people at your local station. Be prepared, though: They generally don’t have any money to produce new shows, so you (or someone) will probably need to find some sponsorship to pay for the development and production.
If you’re really lucky, the thing may make enough money in it’s first run to pay for future production (but don’t count on it).
If you’re interested in the show and not the money, there’s always community cable. Hey, it’s somewhere to start.
