How do you do a job search (or...how do YOU do a job search)?

I’ve posted this before in another thread, but I’ll repeat it again:

I found my current job by creating a custom filter in LinkedIn that screened for job openings posted within the last 24 hours, and then getting up in the morning every day and applying to every new position which seemed legit, which is more or less a shotgun approach. Took just over 500 applications before I was able to get the first offer.
