How do you feel about the double standard of women attacking men?

The fact that it’s not ok has nothing to do with the fact that he could have hurt her more if he had tried.

This is worth repeating. If we excuse women’s violence, we’re essentially saying that violence is okay so long as you don’t hurt someone too much.

Cases of women attacking men are judged the same way cases of men attacking women are. One at a time first by police, second by a prosecutor, third by a grand jury and fourth in court by a petite jury or judge in a court trial. <snip>

But let’s not forget the part where the police show up and arrest the man who has been hit, because when men and women are fighting they automatically assume that it is the man who is the aggressor. That’s another reason that abused men are not as likely to report violence against them by a woman.

Or the police show up and mock them - “You’re afraid of this little gal?!?” I’d like to think police all over North America are aware that violence against men is a real thing, but it hasn’t reached our social consciousness in any meaningful way yet, and I suspect that the police don’t treat it as seriously as they should, either.
