How do you find the colors you car came in

I have a 2002 lincoln town car and I need to buy some parts for it. The parts are cheaper on ebay, but I’m having trouble matching the colors.

The color can be described as gold, tan, champagne, etc. But the newer models only come in about 10 different colors and there may only be one shade of tan like colors. But I don’t know. I don’t if tan and champagne are the same, or if gold is different from champagne, etc.

So if I buy a part and it says ‘gold’ I don’t to find out gold and champagne are 2 different colors (some cars come in different shades of grey, I don’t know if they come in different shades of tan). So can I find a list of the official colors the car came in back then?

First hit on Google (I wouldn’t trust the swatches, though.)

You could also enter your VIN here, then click the tab for ‘colors’.

You should be able to find the paint info on the back edge of the driver’s door, or the door jamb on a Lincoln.

This site gives locations for most manufacturers, as well as sample pics of the labels so you know what to look for.

Yeah, this. There is a color code on the door plate that you can then find online.
