How do you prefer your steak and kidney pie,

meat pre-cooked in a pot then placed in a pie dish and baked OR, placed raw with a little water in the pie dish and steamed for several hours? i think the steamed version is the traditional one.

I’ve only ever had the baked version.

ETA: I ought to add that I just spent six months living with the Brits in Afghanistan and just never acquired a taste for their steak and kidney pies there. It probably has something to do with the fact that I was eating them at a military dining facility.
