Garmin allows you to save any location to favorites. If you’re at a state park; Click save to favorites and you have the location forever
I’m looking for a way to do that with Google maps.
You can go into Google contacts and enter the person’s address. You can click the maps symbol and it will open the map.
There should be a favorites list for Google Maps.
This article claims there’s a save asterisk.

You can add a private label to places on your map. Labeled places show up on your map, in search suggestions, in the "Your places" screen, and in Google Photos.
To add a label, follow the steps below
I’ve got a search for Petsmart on my phone now. There’s no asterisk. I looked in the menu on the left corner. No option to save?
Same article discusses saving a label. So your buddy Jack’s house is labeled like that on the map. That’s not offered either.
I don’t understand.
I figured it out.
You have to click more info.
Bring up the page for the place.
In BLUE it says Directions, Call, Save, Share
Still no asterisk, but that does work.
Tried it on a residential address and it worked the same way.
btw, google puts little hearts on the map where you saved a place to favorites.

I copy/paste all the URLs into a text file.
Saving the URL’s is a good idea.
Instead of depending on a list saved in your Google account.

Another alternative would be to just bookmark them all in your browser, for which you can c create a folder. in which to assemble them. Then rename each one for later recovery. Bookmarks seems to have infinite capacity.
