I can’t find how to save or star places in Google Maps. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do in regular GM to get places to show up on the phone. None of the things in My Maps seem to be available on the phone. Can someone please tell me what I’m supposed to do to build a list of favorite places so I can use them on the phone?
The start is right next to the name of the place.

Click on it, then go to “Starred Places” on your phone. It’ll sync up automatically.
