I want to clear out my hotmail account – it’s full, and I have many small files, so it’s not a simple matter of deleting a few big files. I’d like to save them for reference later.
I know I read how to do this once – it involved Outlook – but I’m damned if I can find it anywhere now. TIA.
Here’s my procedure, using Internet Explorer:
I simply highlight the ‘from’ and ‘title’ columns and hit Ctrl+C.
Then I right click on the blue link to the email and hit ‘Save Target As…’ and choose a folder.
I then hit Ctrl+V and you will get a filename like:
Bob Jones A very boring email
Which makes it easy enough to find the email later. You can also include the date just as easily.
Note that you have to delete any colons, this especially effects emails with Re:
Then I just hit save and I have an offline, html copy. Easy as that!
