How do you take your coffee?

Fuckin’ A

Unmodified and unadulterated. Reasonably hot, decently strong, and freshly made. Black no sugar to the NY people to whom for some odd reason “coffee” is not sufficiently explicit.

Black is best. I drank it with sugar for a few years until I got older and wiser.

Black as the night.

I can do [finally, thanks to the cardiologist who has straightened out my meds and gotten me on an excellent maintenance setup]a certain amount of caffeine in a day without ramping up my BP or giving me palpitations. I do it 1 third half and half, 3 drops liquid splenda and if I drink it as an after dinner treat instead of a morning treat I add a teaspoon of brandy.

I can drink coffee light or sweet or light and sweet, but not black. I prefer it navy style, strong enough to climb out of the cup and stand a watch. Decaff tastes like someone used a jockstrap as a filter and I will not drink it. [I was drinking an herbal tisane until I got my real coffee back]

I don’t drink coffee any more, but when I did, my favourite was as Caffe latte - espresso thrown into a measured amount of cold milk in the steaming pitcher and frothed. This is not to be confused with what Starbuck’s calls a Latte, which is actually a Café au lait.

If I ever get back to running 40k+ per week, maybe I can go back to drinking coffee. I miss it terribly.

40,000 what?

Like I like my women: pale and sweet.

Friggin’ fak, that should have read 40km. Once I’m running 40 km a week or more, I don’t have the same reaction to the caffeine in coffee. If I’m not running, even minute amounts of caffeine make me sleepless and anxious.

I don’t like coffee by itself. At work, I fill my travel mug all the way with black coffee, then pour in one of those hot chocolate packets. That tastes good to me. Two years ago I refused to drink anything coffee so maybe eventually I can give up the chocolate part but still not yet, no way.

Like my women: ground and in the freezer.

Three Splendas and three creamer pots. At home I add real cream. I hate powdered creamer and will usually pass if that’s all that’s available.

French Roast, with canned lite whipped cream & Hershey’s Dark Choc Syrup.

Plus add a generic Costo biscotti.

Adds weight, but so yummy!

I don’t drink coffee often (except in the winter). I tend to mix it up. It depends on the coffee, for one. I do like it sweet in general, so if I do add anything it’s sugar.

Sometimes some 1% milk.

Coffee is not my big caffeine thing unless it’s cold.

There’s nothing more satisfying than a nice, not-too-hot but not-yet-cool cup of good black coffee. It makes me feel good, just drinking it, before the caffeine even hits my bloodstream.

My wife drinks candy. More sugar than coffee, and weird flavors like Candy Cane Mocha and shit like that. I can certainly understand the draw - I like a Caramel Macchiato just fine. But it ain’t coffee anymore.

Joe

I normally only drink coffee as flavored lattes (I have the machine at home) with fresh ground beans. I have about 15 or more different flavor syrups to choose from, and I put in 3 Splenda packets as well.

Hot and black. In a cup that has only been used for coffee and never washed with dish-soap,
(though occasionally rinsed out with water).
