How do you think the Tetris movie will stack up? [edited title]

Even if the producers can get all the pieces to come together, I don’t think it’ll be a blockbuster.

Fun fact: the famous Type A song is actually a Russian folk song about a peddler and a girl. That’s about as close as Tetris has to a plot, I guess? By proxy?

I ended up liking the Lego movie, so I’m going to reserve judgement here.

Archaeologists are always finding old settlements covered by newer settlements, like in Rome. Maybe the movie will be a time lapse of city planners trying to erect new buildings on top of old structures before surges in city population.

Tee-, I say, tee-hee.

Can it be any worse than Battleship? Honestly?

I didn’t read the article any mention of Uwe Boll?

It’s being made by Threshhold Entertainment, the people who brought us Mortal Kombat in 1995.

Clue was pretty great, too.

I actually downloaded that song for my MP3 player. I can’t find a version that’s as horribly tinny as it was on my old Game Boy, however

Could we please get the movie name inserted into the thread title?

I have requested the mods to put “The Movie Name” into the title of the thread.

To be honest, Battleship was not awful.

I’d totally watch Minesweeper: The Movie if it existed.

I dunno; the only straight guy in the story has a bit part.

Didn’t they do one six years ago?

I just hope they stay true to the original work. I hate it when Hollywood makes a mockery of my favorite books and games by butchering the plot for no good reason.

THE PRESIDENT: We’re doomed. Even our most powerful bombs won’t make a dent in these unstoppable blocks of death.

YOUNG SCIENTIST: We’re going about this all wrong! If we just stack the blocks together with no gaps, they’ll disappear on their own!

THE PRESIDENT: You want to fight the blocks with more blocks? That’s just crazy enough to work! Say kid, where did you ever get an idea like that?

YOUNG SCIENTIST: Well, when I was a kid it seemed like I was always having trouble … you know … fitting in.

Mortal Kombat was one of the better video game adaptations. It’s not Shakespeare or anything but it was entertaining at least.

I wonder how long it would take me to get kicked out of the theater for chanting ‘LINE PIECE!’?

Agree to disagree.

I think The Onion nailed it on the Tetris Movie:

“There’s no telling what Hollywood will remember existed next.”
