How does Milo Yiannopoulos exist, exactly?

Your posts make me laugh out loud. I woke up the cat. Well, one of them. The deaf cat slept through it.

Use whatever tactics you wish. I ignore David Duke. If I was sitting across from him at a debate, even though it’s obvious I’m far from a professional, I wouldn’t get angry or name call. Why do you think Bill Maher had Milo on? Why do you think Bill called his liberal audience, in essence, idiots?

Because Bill is smart. He realizes in the arena of ideas that the person you are debating isn’t your audience. It’s a convenient foil to exploit in public. Bill calls the loony, hysterical left idiots because they are getting played by a provocateur.

So Bill futilely attempts to educate his audience by being calm and employing reason while talking with Milo. It’s interesting to watch the dynamic.

I should point out that campuses would ban him from speaking because he would endanger students lives. Pretty sure free speech obligations hit a limit there, somewhere.

How does he endanger their lives?

Wilful provocation. Anyone with an IQ above room temperature listening to Milo’s shite is likely to consider ending him for the greater good, and the troll is usually surrounded by people with guns.

That’s pure nonsense. You should be ashamed.

Which are you?

Bill is smart, and also an arrogant narcissistic fool on some issues. This is one of them. He’s even trying to take credit for Milo’s downfall, which is utterly ridiculous.

If I had a show, I wouldn’t book a spreader-of-bigotry like Duke or Milo… but if I did, I’d challenge them harshly and strongly. I’d mock their idiocy. I’d demonstrate their stupidity and hatefulness to the world.

Bill should have done that. Instead, he played pussyfoot with the bigot, barely disagreeing on anything and offering cover that his positions were reasonable.

You still didn’t answer my question – do you think it’d be wrong to “demonize” David Duke for the horrible things he’s said? You might choose another tactic… but do you think my tactic, of harshly challenging and criticizing, along with mocking his hateful idiocy, is wrong?

Well, for example, by attracting armed supporters who shoot nonviolent protestors in the stomach, resulting in prolonged hospitalization and multiple surgeries. That’s pretty endangering.

I repeat to you what I already said, twice, to Rick Sanchez who likewise seems to be steadfastly ignoring this key issue:

Violent protesters receive violence? Seems like karma.

Is it wrong? No. Is it wise? Depends on the manner. If you look stupid and hysterical in your presentation I don’t think it’s effective.

Outing trans students to an audience and riling them up against said students.

 Can you read? I wrote “nonviolent protestor” there, plain as day.

In what way do you think it is any kind of justifiable “karma” for a NONviolent protestor at a Yiannopoulos speech to be shot in the stomach by an armed Yiannopoulos fan?

As I’m telling iiandyiiii looking ridiculous provides entertainment for many. Who doesn’t like a circus? You are living in a world where Trump is president. People need to start looking at the multiple layers of communication seriously.

After several violent protests at Milo’s speeches it’s not surprising that people are ready to defend themselves. And if violence is employed to prevent someone from speaking why shouldn’t violence be used to ensure that he can?

Uh…kimtsu said nonviolent.

Didn’t think it would be this easy to get octopus to defend violence against speech.

Then when you said “those doing the debating shouldn’t be demonized…” you meant this in a tactical way rather than as a matter of rights or speech, I guess?

As for its effectiveness, when done well (like when David Duke was shown for the fool he was when he went on Tim Russert’s show), it’s incredibly effective. Maybe Bill Maher wasn’t up for it… if so, he shouldn’t have booked him. IMO, Bill Maher’s approach (and I’m a fan of his show) was enabling bigotry in this instance.

So, by this logic, since right-wing extremists are the most violent political group in the US, it’s OK to shoot a non-violent right-wing protester?

Good to know.

Wow, I just wanted to say that was seriously deceptive selective quoting from that paragraph.
