How does Milo Yiannopoulos exist, exactly?

The totalitarian Left are always trying to close down free speech.

You’re dumb as hell. Did you know that?

You are so getting banned for that.

That’s quite a nice piece.

I think the author does a pretty good job of articulating how Yiannopoulos relied for so long on his outrageous and trolling statements being taken seriously by his audience, but when he finally went too far for even the alt-right, he tried to save himself by appealing to his penchant for sarcasm and provocation. He built his whole persona and his fame and fortune on being willing to say whatever people would pay to hear, whether he himself believed it or not, but when he went too far, he couldn’t defend himself without drawing back the curtain and revealing the charade he’d be engaged in.

The real tragedy here, as the author recognizes, is not the fall of Yiannopoulos; it’s that, whether or not he believed his hateful rhetoric, it still had real-world consequences. And, as also became clear, his whole rise to fame was never, for the right, really about free speech at all; it was about “making it OK to say racist, sexist, transphobic, and xenophobic things, about tolerating the public expression of those views right up to the point where it becomes financially unwise to do so.”

When it comes to the alt-right it is never about free speech at all. It’s about making it OK to say racist, sexist, trans-phobic, and xenophobic things. It’s about the alt-right attempt to make the public expression of these views acceptable.

P.S.: Fuck off.

Well no, son. The right just thinks there should be zero consequences for their speech. And ONLY their speech.

True, I for one, am real sick and tired of this “alt right” talk, I think it is time we call them exactly what they are… Nazis.

I don’t know how to interpret a glaring white dude in a Santa hat saying “I will have vengeance” except as the start of a holiday-themed slasher flick.

You mean like this movie?

Sweet Jesus.

My new Christmas tradition.

I don’t get the, uh, tweet(?) about SCOTUS. How did they fail in a way that has changed Milo’s opinion of the GOP?

SCOTUS refused to hear the Texas case yesterday

SCOTUS followed the law instead of supporting Trump. In today’s GOP, where the official party plank is “whatever Donald wants,” that’s heresy.

But then he calls Trump a clown, so he appears to have given up on Trump because SCOTUS didn’t back him (Trump) up. I must be missing another tweet some where.

I can’t tell if he’s upset he defended “selfish clown” Trump, or “selfish clown” Brett Kavanaugh?

Ah, maybe that’s it, although Milo seems to have washed his hands of Trump. Maybe it’s not supposed to make sense. :face_vomiting:

Mission accomplished: 3 year dormant thread revived. People talking about him again. Trolls gotta troll. Attention whores gotta whore for attention. Who cares what any of it means, if anything? When is Ann Coulter gonna pop back up? She’s been quiet for a while.

I think he’s pissed at Trump for appointing three of those SCOTUS guys who then didn’t back Trump up.
