How does one do a strike through?

I can do things in larger text.

I can be bold.

I can be secretive

I can be green with envy

But I can’t figure out how to do that strike through thing posters do, often with humorous effect. Can someone help me out here? I did check all the info in the BBCodes at the bottom of the page, maybe I overlooked it?

del before and /del after, encased in square brackets per usual vBulletin coding. Like this: “The winner if the 2000 election, [del]Gore[/del] Bush…”

[del]Isn’t it nice to have things like this to think about on Christmas?[/del] Thank you!

Polycarp.

When teaching people how to use bb code, noparse is your friend.

[noparse][noparse][del]You strike things through like this.[/del][/noparse][/noparse] =>

[noparse][del]You strike things through like this.[/del][/noparse] =>

[del]You strike things through like this.[/del]

Good eh?

One other note - when you reply to a message, you see the coding used for it. So if someone posts something that you’d like to be able to do, hit reply. [del]It keeps the discussion going.[/del] You don’t have to post your reply, of course.

Not sure, but do you mean “quote” rather than “reply”.

[del]It keeps the discussion going.[/del]

[del]Oops. My mistake.[/del]
But then the joke wouldn’t work…do we have a user named Quote, with a custom title?

Well it taught me how to do a strike through. I just copied your coding and replaced your words in it with mine.

(I always wanted to know how but didn’t want people to think I was thick :slight_smile: )

Too late! :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought I hid it well. :frowning:

Thank you ! Learned something very useful today.
