How Does "Suicide" Work???

Update: I started taking Zoloft 2 days ago. Sweaty palms, no sleep, dizzy as hell, no appetite, light trails, dry mouth to the point that I awoke with a sand-paper numb tongue. I feel like I’ve taken too much NyQuil actually.

I hope this helps. I think I need to believe that it will.

There is a psychiatrist in Memphis, TN (Dr. Ken Tullis) who is working to get suicide listed as an “addiction.” (Like drugs and alcohol)

Someone in America attempts suicide every 45 seconds or thereabouts. Someone succeeds every 16.4 minutes.

Most suicides have tried over 20 times before succeeding.

Of course the people who are really serious usually get it right the first time.

My theory is that we are here for such a short time in the grand scheme of things that one should stick around on the off-chance that somethign good will happen.

Hey sj2, I am glad you have taken those steps. Just remember to go easy while the pills fuzz your brain. The side effects should lift soon. Go gently as you would if it was the flu or something effecting you.

I am pleased you found that link useful btw, I had missed your response earlier.

sj2, am very glad to see you back and working on this. You’ve probably already heard what I’m about to say, but it bears repeating: please, please (a) give the Zoloft at least a couple of weeks to work (it’s unfortunate these damn drugs take so long), and (b) keep in mind that you can change drugs if the Zoloft doesn’t end up helping. Everyone I know who’s taken drugs for depression (including me) has had to change at least once. It sucks but ultimately you find one that helps. And eventually, you may even be able to stop taking them (after 3.5 years, I did).

Best wishes,

Christian
