How Does The Drop Light Know: Where Is The Area Of Operation?

It is some amazing technology. A simple drop light will somehow know where the work area is and where the face is because the light will always seek out the eyes - goddamnit!!!

On my back, standing up, leaning over - it makes no difference.
With a hook, with a magnet, or even a clamp - them damn work lights will never seek out the work site but will shine in the eyes

What’s a drop light?

A drop light is a light, often little more than an bulb with protective cage, on the end of a heavy duty extension cord. You use it to shine light in dim work areas such as under a car or in the crawlspace under a house. Here’s one
I feel so butch knowing that

You forgot their other little trait. If you are holding it so it isn’t blinding you, it will illuminate the entire work area, except the spot you actually need to see.

They are funny like that. I’ve learned to live with them.

I need help - how can I learn to live with them?
Maybe I should take my lights to bed with me

Not really a good idea, for you see, when drop lights aren’t busy trying to blind you, or illuminating just the wrong spot, the other thing which they like to do is snuggle close to your bareskin, but only after they’ve reached their operating temperature of a few hundred degrees. For some reason they’ve gotten it into their heads that the sound of a human bellowing in sudden agony is really a sound of affection, so when they hear you scream and bellow obscenities, they’re first instinct is to snuggle closer. Of course, this is the last thing that you want them to do!

Taking one to bed with you when it’s cold, will only upset the drop light and make it not want to work at all. Taking one to bed with you when it’s hot will only inspire the droplight to seek out the areas of your flesh which are the most sensative to pain.
