How easy is it to get music/podcasts on an Android phone?

Sorry, it’s yet another iPhone/Droid thread.

I’m about due for an upgrade or a switch from AT&T to Verizon (AT&T isn’t great in Phoenix). I have an iPhone 3GS now, and I like it. I like how easy it is for me to get music and podcasts on it. However, multiple threads here have me convinced I should look into a Droid phone.

So, how easy is it to get that stuff onto a Droid? What software do you use? Will all of my iTunes songs be useless?

You can certainly transfer your music from iTunes to your phone. You can just drag and drop. For podcasts I highly recommend the Pocket Casts App. I’ve tried a ton of different podcast apps, and I would say it’s the simpliest to use and the least buggy.

I’m not an apple user, so I cant comment on the itunes.

For podcatrs, I use Google listen. Basically, its a podcatcher. You can log in to it in a browser like gmail, or use the app. You subscribe to a feed, and depending on your settings, it’ll Download to your phone automagically.

I use subsonic for my persinal music, but i also connect VIA usb and can manage like a thumb drive.
