How far are you from your birthplace right now?

Not sure, what’s the distance from rapid city, s dakota to shanghai?

I’m about 4km from the hospital I was born in (it’s a shopping centre now) and about 15 km from my first house.

As I sit here I’m about 1.25(2 kilometers) miles from the hospital where I was born.

I live 2614.4 miles from door to door, according to Mapquest. I was born at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, and now live in Pennsylvania.

For the most part, I’ve never lived that close to UCLA.

I was born in the UK and live in Melbourne. (Inaccurately) using London, that’s about 16936 km (10500 miles) using this site.

From Palmerston North, New Zealand to Broome, Western Australia.

3513 miles

Gmaps pedometer says it’s about 3.5 miles (as the crow flies) from my house to the rough location of the hospital I was born in. Can’t be more specific because the hospital closed decades ago.

I live a couple of miles from the hospital where I was born, except that it doesn’t exist anymore. The farthest I’ve lived from here is San Francisco, about 30 miles by freeway.

Currently, 3.68 miles.

About 1,052 Miles from Rockville, MD to Fort Myers, FL. Feels much further.

About 15km “as the fly crows” from the maternity hospital. It was so ashamed as a result, they had to turn it into apartments.

I moved away from this city as a small child, but came back to spend my entire adult life here (so far). Thinking of leaving again though.

Office (where I am just this moment) to hospital: 16 1/2 kilometers
Office to the house I lived in as an infant: 16 kilometers
Current residence to house I lived in as an infant: 9 kilometers
Current residence to hospital where I was born: 11 1/3 kilometers

About 800 from the town in which I was born. I’m going back to visit next month. My grandparents still live there.

90 miles.

Born in London (9 million people), live in country town (12.000 people).

When I went to University, it had the same name as the hospital I was born in (I think they are connected).

About 17 miles from hospital to home.

Interesting how so many of us now reckon our “birth hospital” when asked such questions. I am now 130.49 miles from my birth hospital and 120.01 from the house to which I was taken home from that hospital. (Bird flight miles. The need to avoid splashing through Lake Erie, tramping across the Canadian Sun Parlour, and then splashing across the water where Lake St. Clair becomes the source of the Detroit River adds about 78 3/4 miles to the trip.)

Um, that would be me, and I think I did post in that last thread. I am currently living in the home of my birth, which is 8.2 miles from the hospital I was born in.

I am 91.6 miles by car or 66.1 miles by African Shallows.

Someone should find and link the prior thread. Hint Hint

By a bizarre twist of fate, and having lived all over the world between 300 and 8,000 miles from home, I have recently ended up - without any planning involved - 400 yards from the building in which I was born, and sitting at my desk can look directly onto its roof.

2564 miles, as the crow flies.

2984 miles roadwise.
