Distance From Birth

This is experimental thread. Mostly because I just thought of it in a fit of boredom and I’m not too sure how many other people will be willing to give anything that oozes from my mind a second thought, but here goes. . .

How far do you live from where you were born?

Which doper has the farthest distance? Which has the shortest?

Me - I was born in Buffalo and now reside in San Francisco which gives me somewhere in the 2300 mile range.

Et tu?

As the crow flies, I live about 10km (6 miles) from the hospital where I was born.

I was born in Maine, live in Boston. Only a 2 hr. drive from my parents house in Portland, but more like 5 hrs. from the house I was born in. (I was born at home, not the hospital.) My BF is Australian. That’s almost as far as you can get.

I was born in Seoul, S. Korea and now I live in Heidelberg, Germany. It’s about 5350 miles, unless you go the long way around, but I’m not going to figure that out.

Tatertot, if you’re shooting for the distance title, you better stick with 5350 miles. If we’re counting the long way around I think Havoc will have you beat.

Damn that Havoc! Just when I thought there was a title I could easily win…

I was born in Southbridge, MA but now live 30 miles away in Worcester.

Born in New Jersey, now in Denver. It’s about 1800 miles.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, presently residing in Rockville, MD, about 130-150 miles away.

I was born in Honolulu; I now live about 20 miles away, in unlovely Waipahu.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, now I am in Tampa, FL.

Born in McMinnville, OR, live in Dallas, OR, which is about 20-30 miles away.

Born in Tokyo, Japan and I now live in Boulder, CO.

Born 600 Grant Street, Gary, IN.

Now live at my home address, Parker, CO

1040.6 Miles, approximate driving time: 18 hours, 59 minutes
