I’m currently in my bedroom a 9 mile car journey (slightly shorter for crows) from the hospital in which I was born, and about half that distance from my childhood home. My only other permanent residences have been within a mile of the hospital. I did move to 150 miles away for university, and have travelled all over the world to many other places in which I’d happily live, but I like it best here - friends and family are a big factor, of course.
According to Sygic, 13 miles. That’s to the hospital. To the house I grew up in, it is zero inches.
Well, I was born in the local hospital, 16 miles from my childhood/current home. But I still live on the same exact plot of land I came home to from the hospital, nearly 63 years ago. Granted, I lived many many places over those intervening years, but my current home stayed in the family and I inherited it (all to prematurely) back in 1995.
1.9 km (1.2 miles) straight down 14th avenue. Walking distance; a crow could go a little straighter but not much.
