For amateur feature film making?
I am still very new to digital camcorders and I am looking for a nice one to buy. I haven’t really shot anything that would be shown in a theater but I am wondering if something shot with this camera will create a professional looking film.
If not, what are some cameras that do produce a good picture?
The VX2100 (here’s a review) is a very good pro-sumer 3-chip camera. I personally prefer the Canon XL2 type. If you’ve got the money for these kinds of cameras, you might consider looking into HD cameras. The older ones look great, broadcast quality and all, but they’re still 640x480. HD is just going to look better when increased in size. I drool for the Canon XL-H1.
