How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

While that is true, I think you’ll find that this guy did not use an automatic weapon. Nor did the shooter in Vegas. They were using, in fact, semi-automatic rifles. Perfectly legal, and probably similar to what the “good guy with a gun” used.

I’ve been clamoring for such a “good guy with a gun” story where the perp had a high capacity rifle. This recent tragedy sounds like it is just that.

Interesting that, in such a scenario, only 26 people died before good gun loving America intervened.

/hairsplitting

I meant a gun that *functioned *like an automatic weapon.

I’m not disagreeing with you about the weapon the killer used. I’m just pointing out that it’s worth remembering that the seemingly benign sounding “hunting rifle” isn’t some quaint two-shelled shotgun that kills varmint, or the like. It’s the military-grade weapon that is easily converted into an automatic, as was used here, both by the murderer and the good guy who tried to stop him.

Okay. Point taken.

It’s the conversion. When you perform this conversion, you are intentionally changing the character and function of the gun.

Had Devin Kelly (the murderer) converted the rifle to full auto?

The LA Times is reporting that the good guy, Stephen Willeford, also had a semi-automatic AR-15 style weapon.

If the cops had pulled up right then, who would they have thought was the Bad Guy?

All parties involved were white, so probably “None of them.”

Probably the guy that didn’t start shooting at them.

Please keep this thread focused on Trump - thanks.

Okay then, Trump has pissed me off today by never denouncing a white Christian mass murderer as strongly as he denounces black or Muslim murderers. His excusers piss me off by not denouncing that.

The list of white Christian mass murderers includes many fine people.

(golf claps)

Not entirely convinced by this, given all of the President’s problems, but it makes an interesting case that he’s a lock for renomination by the GOP: Why Trump has a lock on the 2020 GOP nomination - STATE Magazine

Since it’s in this thread, that means it pisses you off, right?

I am totally not worried about this. Not gonna happen. First of all, he’s 71 now.
Second of all, I don’t think he has much chance of serving his term.
If by some means he does finish four years, there is no way anyone would vote for him.
The Republicans won’t run him. His popularity is what, 38%?
Even the dumbasses who voted for him aren’t going to want 4 more years of fucking up.

I hope you’re right. Yesterday I was despondent because I was convinced he would surely be re-elected in 2020.

Depends on the turnout. Remember, Trump was elected with just 26% of eligible voters voting for him.

Apparently, he’s having the DOJ screw with theAT&T/TimeWarner merger because he doesn’t like CNN. I really don’t care if the merger goes through, but this is tinpot dictator bullshit that shouldn’t be happening in America.

Now, now. It’s okay when Republicans do it.
