No. These days we’re allowed to pick and choose what is true, not just from the news media, but from whoever or wherever we want; sources don’t matter any more than the facts, after all.
ETA: And not just what we believe is true, but what is actually true. We’ve gone far, far beyond mere truthiness here.
Several gossip sites have linked her to a security guy in New York, specifically Hank Siemers, head of global retail security for Tiffany’s.
I always suspected that the reason Keith Schiller left the Trump Administration and went back to NY was that Trump wanted him in NY to keep an eye on Melania when she was away from DC.
I had to go and look again on reading that description.
Wow, no. From the depth of field, I’d say he’s a good way away from her, several feet at least. This looks like a narrow angle (telephoto shot) with a depth of field big enough to capture the Donald and Melania in focus, but not the security guys a few yards away.
Hi Mr. Heir. Maybe I’m missing something but I didn’t find Donnie’s comments disgusting. What am I not understanding? Yeah, once again he pulled out the bullshit about something being more complicated than expected, but that just seems more moronic than disgusting.
His comments onElizabeth seemed liked what a typical elderly guy might say to compliment an elderly woman:
Speaking of the 92-year-old queen, Trump was quoted as saying: “She is an incredible woman, she is so sharp, she is so beautiful, when I say beautiful - inside and out. That is a beautiful woman.”
Asked if Trump felt the queen had liked him, he said: “Well I don’t want to speak for her, but I can tell you I liked her. So usually that helps. But I liked her a lot.”
“Just very elegant. And very beautiful. It was really something special,” Trump said of the meeting. “She is so sharp, so wise, so beautiful. Up close, you see she’s so beautiful. She’s a very special person.”
The problem is that he’s talking like an old man discussing another old woman…exactly as you said. But since these are two heads of state, it Makes it excessively personal and wildly inappropriate.
Not sure where else to post this - kinda cool more journals of record are coming out and calling it like it is. Yahoo (by no means the most sterling source, I spose) is I think the fourth source I’ve come across, now, pegging преЦАРдент Trump with “lies” in the headline.
Gloves are off, finally. (well, over the past month, or so?) Let’s call this shit like it is.
Yeah, it is not a journalistic norm to use “lies”, I’ll grant, but these are exceptional times.
Thanks for the response. In this episode I wasn’t seeing anything repulsive (and still don’t); I even checked for harrumphing in a couple of British papers (Times & Guardian) but didn’t find anything in 12 minutes of review.
I’ve got memories of sampling Rush Limbaugh back in his heyday, and being disgusted that his show mostly consisted of putting the worst possible spins on every innocuous thing Bill Clinton did or said. I had a momentary flashback, but no big deal — Trump has no regard for honesty and very little for democratic government, and if he gets a few sentences of questionable criticism that’s the smallest of problems.
As for how he’s pissed me off today, that’s already been covered extensively, but: He hasn’t cancelled his meeting with Putin.
It’s so annoying when your aides butt in to say, “Mr. President, I’m sorry, but you can’t offer to give Alaska back,” and “Sir, perhaps you might not want to reveal our nuclear codes,” and stuff like that. Better just to keep them out of the room entirely: Live: Fallout after Trump-Putin meeting
Sanding beside Putin, Trump said that the Mueller probe has damaged relations between the US and Russia. Not the reasons why there is a probe, that didn’t damage relations, but investigating has done so.
How has he pissed me off? By betraying his country, that’s how. This fucker needs to go, either by impeachment or being found incapable of governing the country. Yeah, we’d be stuck with Pence, but that’s a fight for another day. In the meantime, this traitorous, cowardly excuse for a president, American, and human being needs to be booted.
