How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

Nordstrom’s stock went up. I can’t say the two are related, but that was probably not the intended effect.

Also, why does he need pushing to do the right thing?

Cuz he’s a scumbag?

About that, and one of the “Mooslum” attacks he is using…

The parents of two British-born backpackers killed by a mentally disturbed man in the remote outback of Australia have reacted with fury to Donald Trump including their children as victims of a “terror attack” to bolster his phony claim that the media are deliberately “underreporting" terrorism. Their anger and disgust at Trump is just another reflection of this Administration’s sheer incompetence and disregard for the impact of its lies to the lives of ordinary people.
Mia Ayliffe-Chung, 21, was backpacking in Australia when she stopped to stay in a remote hostel. There she met Tom Jackson, another backpacker staying there. Unfortunately an emotionally disturbed 29-year old French national named Smail Ayad, another hostel guest, apparently developed an infatuation for her during her brief stay. Despite his “Arabic sounding name" the police ultimately determined Ayad was neither an Islamic fundamentalist or even a practicing Muslim, nor had he ever set foot in a mosque. He was, quite simply, mentally ill with a history of imagining paranoid conspiracies against him.

"My daughter’s death will not be used to further this insane persecution of innocent people,” - Rosie Ayliffe, mother of one victim

“Woke up this morning to see you’ve used my son’s murder to further your campaign of hate. How dare you. You are a discrace.” Sandra Jackson, mother of the other victim

So Trump is just like the media he is denouncing, right? His list doesn’t include Bowling Green.

Of course the President’s flack demands an apology from John McCain, to whom Trump himself never apologized after saying he was a hero merely for being captured: http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/08/politics/john-mccain-sean-spicer-yemen/index.html

You know, I didn’t vote for McCain, but I’m glad to see him opposing Trump. He and Jeff Flake are two of the more reasonable Republicans in the Senate.

Eh. They voted lock-step with other Republicans in confirming Devos. I wouldn’t be too impressed with them.

Trump has made it harder for me to not feel contempt for certain family members.

Ooh, that’s a good one. Mrs. Lendervedder and I have altered vacation plans for this year because of obnoxious Trumpers in the family.

They are not men!

They are Devos!

White house “terrorism list” does not say what they think it says…

So the Whitehouse released a list of “major terrorist attacks targeting the West” that they think provides great support for their ban. Aside from the fact that some of these are completely made-up bogus crap (for example, couple in Australia killed by non-terrorist dude), it is very interesting when one looks at where the people who committed these terrorist attacks are from:

Of 90 Terrorists on this list, 9 are from countries on the “banned” list.
Here is where these terrorists are from:
France: 16
United States: 13 (11 citizens, 2 permanent residents)
Tunisia: 6
Libya: 5
Bengal: 5
Saudi Arabia: 4 (they missed some here… what was that attack again?)
Syria: 3
Algeria: 3
Indonesia: 3
Australia, Afghanastan, Bosnia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Turkey: 2 each
Chad, Egypt, the Emirates, Iran, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, Pakistan, Sweden, and the United Kingdom: 1 each
Iraq: 0
Somalia: 0
Sudan: 0
Yemen: 0

This is the list that the White House offered as PROOF THAT THEIR BAN WAS NEEDED.

Assholes.

I’ve never paid so much attention to a presidential election campaign. I remember, late the night of the election, when it became clear that he was indeed going to win, feeling nauseated and disbelieving that someone so unfit and so undeserving was being handed the greatest prize on the planet.

In trying to stay informed on the actions of this administration, I often feel that same nausea and disbelief, as well as despair and anger. I’m literally quietly shaking as I type this. At times, even pictures of the man have me feeling hate and a strong desire for none of all this to have happened.

I’m feeling more and more like I have to stop paying attention, just to give my emotional health a break. I’m also, however, feeling that if I do that, he wins. Does this still count as a First World problem?

Oh hell no. The way you “let him win” is if you don’t keep actively working for a better society and political structure by taking specific positive actions. Not if you just give yourself a break from looking at his nauseating face and reading his stupid words.

Join a local activism group and/or sign up for regular email alerts about specific things that you can do to work against his policies. That has a very restorative effect, unlike just reading about ever more dumb Presidential actions that leave you feeling ever more frustrated and overwhelmed.

The President has progressed from insulting individual Federal judges to entire appellate panels: http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/09/politics/travel-ban-9th-circuit-ruling-immigration/index.html

I think Trump’s head is about to implode.

We may not be witnessing the collapse of America, but instead the collapse of the Republican Party. They seem to have finally gone so far over the Right edge they’re in the Upside Down. There may be a new, more middle-ground right-wing Party that will rise in its stead.

Maybe.

Though probably not.

There really isn’t any room there on the center-right. The Democratic Party has occupied that niche since 1992.

Or thereabouts.

That’s something many women have seen time and again… you listen politely to some guy, he thinks that means you’re into him. Most don’t dive right for your pussy, mind you: the usual reaction is between inviting you for coffee and trying to put his arm on your shoulders.

I like the other Devos better. Much more reasonable.

Yes.
Sometimes when I hear the latest disgrace in the news I think to myself “This is even worse than Trump being elected”, but it’s not true. Because in fact I’m still in the residual shock of that event.

So many people making such an irrational decision.
And all the bad guys, the guys spreading lies and ignorance 24/7, winning: hannity, conway, gingrich, clarke, giuliani, that angry blonde girl… They won.
