This is an interesting choice of words, but I doubt if Trump knows the significance.
An Enemy of the People is a famous 1883 Ibsen play, adapted by Arthur Miller in the 1950’s, that has been made into a movie more than once.
Simply put, in a small town, some well-meaning residents, backed by a newspaper publisher, set out to improve living conditions, but are taken the wrong way and everything gradually backfires. It’s a study in psychology and sophism.
IMHO, Steve McQueen made the best version of the movie, now available on YouTube for a fee. Watch it if you can; it has never been more relevant than now.

This Canuck used to be politically lazy (at least no activist of any sort, anyway) but manoman if I was a Yank I’d be front and centre with any kind of grassroots activity, pamphleting, etc., trying to engage folks who voted Trump (avoiding, of course, knuckle-dragging alt-right trogs - good luck with that), contacting state leaders, etc.
Like one of the elder civil rights leaders interviewed last night on PBS Newshour (my only go-to non-local news source these days) said: the successes on this level will not be grandiose.
So true, but methinks there’ll be a groundswell of such successes - the 60’s all over?

What’s pissing me off is that it’s Trump’s fault we have this:
Reporting truth someone doesn’t like - fake news.
Unfavorable polling results - rigged.
Angry constituents at a town hall - paid agitators.
Protests in the streets - sore losers.
Republicans are falling in line to alter reality and they are getting away with it.
This. On the long list of awful things that Trump is responsible for, not least among them is the Orwellian reality distortion. We can’t even talk to each other using our common language. When you say “fake news” do you mean “deliberate misinformation”? Or “news I don’t like”?
