You know all those ridiculous claims that Trump is playing some sort of multi-dimensional chess? Well, he’s really not but Putin probably is…although it’s the version of multi-dimensional chess where you steal the other guys pieces while he watches you take them, then claim you didn’t take them ,then you produce a bunch of papers that say the chess pieces were always yours, then you have your opponent arrested for stealing YOUR chess pieces, then you throw him in jail then kill him…But there is still considerable strategy involved in knowing what pieces to steal, when to steal them and when to kill your opponent.
Putin outTrumps Trump by orders of magnitude. Although he isnt legitimate enough to make the Forbes list, the LOWEST estimate of his wealth that I’ve seen is 40 billion, over 10x that of Trump- other estimates put it as high as 200 billion, well of twice that of Bill Gates. Putins largest mansion (out of 20) is worth 1 billion dollars.
If you have time read the Wiki article to get an idea of how Putin works. The mansion was built with money diverted from a private-public heath care initiative partnership in a rather blatant but untouchable manner. And everything in Russia works like this. It’s not so much a country as it is a crime syndicate with its own police force and court system.
Putin is 10x better than Trump at keeping people off-balance and creating his own truth. And Trump’s cojones are shriveled little peas compared to Putins.
Does anyone remember this story? Back in 2005 NE Patriots owner Robert Kraft was visiting Russia and met Putin. Kraft was showing off his Super Bowl ring and handed it to Putin. Putin admired it (“I could kill someone with this”). Kraft held out his han to take the ring back, Putin put it in his pocket and walked out with his KBG guards.
Kraft never saw the ring again and was later pressured by the White House to issue a statement saying he gave it to Putin. 8 years later he told the truth.
It really doesn’t matter if the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to throw the election. You’re dealing with TRUMP and PUTIN, for gods sake. “Truth” doesn’t figure into the equation at all. His staff was disorganized and unartful and allowed the Russians to put them in a compromising position. I mean, it’s not like Trump was stupid enough to go on national TV and ask the Russians to commit crimes to help him win…oh, wait, he actually DID do that.
But the Trumpsters played their hands badly and now Putin holds all the cards ( to change the game metaphor). Now Putin can release or leak evidence of Trump collusion if he wants to ( it doesn’t matter whether the evidence is real or not, we are in a post-truth situation). 2 months in and Putin owns him ( and us ). It’s rather depressing in an existential way.
Today I am very happy with “I alone can fix the nation’s health care system” Trump.
Oh yeah, and Obamcare is “exploding”.
Republicans write a bill to repeal Obamacare. Republicans introduce it. Republicans can’t get enough votes in a House in which they hold a majority. Republicans pull the bill.
