The EPA is cutting staff by offering to buy out their contracts. I guess with the US actively involved in trying to create more pollution, cutting pollution controllers is the next step.

I have to say, I used to work for the EPA, and now that I look back, their doom was inevitable, even before Trump.
I got laid off during the government shutdown led by Ted Cruz, and he became the most hated human being in my universe until Trump came along. However, I was a Flash developer – an industry that was dying anyway. All I was doing was making animated versions of event posters and such. It was a wonderful place to work, with a fantastic dining hall and a lake to walk around, but I always felt like I was on borrowed time. What I was doing certainly wasn’t saving the planet, and despite the solar panels and fancy window dressing, the EPA was essentially the type of government bureaucracy that could easily be targeted as taxpayer waste.
A privately owned corporation can get away with the perks and excess, but a government institution shouldn’t. As much as I regret the US pulling out of the Paris accord, somebody was bound to notice the EPA had gotten too bloated and needed to be scaled back.

Asshole bullshit artist tweeted that the mayor said that, after this attack, the people of London shouldn’t be concerned, implying the mayor said they shouldn’t be concerned about the attack. No, you absolutely fucking insane asshole liar, the mayor said that the people shouldn’t be concerned about the increased police presence.

As long as the Repubs in Congress get to sabotage Obamacare, line the pockets of their patrons (and their own) and screw a few million people out of everything they can, they will look the other way. I was a health aide and I know how much elderlies people depend on getting one hot meal a day and some much needed company for a few minutes . I was thinking about starting a thread in GD asking a Trump supporter to defend this distortion of a grieving mayor’s words on the day after a terrorist attack but, (1) I didn’t want to get yelled at by Projammer, and (2) I’m not sure I can safely interact with a Trump supporter outside the pit anymore. Not after this.
Speaking of Trump supporters, I finally understand Okrahoma’s handle. It’s because he’s in a vegetative state. I really can’t stand interacting with that guy – he’s so disingenuous, though maybe not as bad as the guy who rhymes with orange. I dare not speak his name because I don’t want him here.

Trump isn’t really helping overly much in those goals, though. If he ever starts to actively hurt, then fireworks will happen. I don’t know how likely that is, but I see it as a possibility.
