“I might do it right away, maybe early this week. I am seriously thinking about it,” Trump said, according to Fox News. He said Arpaio was a “great American patriot” who had “done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration.”

I believe I read somewhere — might even have been on the SDMB — that accepting a pardon, at least after one has been convicted, is tantamount to an admission of guilt. Is this a reasonable inference to make?
I read it here, too. (I might have even posted it… ) It also removes Fifth Amendment protection from the person pardoned. So that’s an upside.
People of that ilk(Arpaio, Trump etc) really don’t care whether you think they are guilty or innocent, as long as they get to keep their money and their freedom. For example, even if Trump is impeached and removed from office he will consider it a “win” if he makes his deals and makes an overall profit.
And that is exactly why I keep saying it is not enough. He needs to have all his ill gotten gains seized, be sent to federal prison, and his cronies with him.
If you quack like a racist duck, you’re a racist duck. Why was there ever any doubt the s.o.b. is racist? Why is anyone surprised he supports racists? Why is anyone surprised racists support him?
By the way, did you ever wonder why the chump is anti-Semitic even while his daughter converted to Judaism and married a Jew whose grandparents survived the Holocaust? IMHO, the answer is simple: the chump (a) considers the man to be "one of the good (i.e. not really one) Jews, and (b) his daughter’s conversion to be really meaningless.
Trump is the most deluded person in history and you Nazi sympathizers, racists, and bigots declared your sympathies when you voted for him. No, he was not the lesser of two evils. He was and still is evil. He has never done any good. And now he’s in a position to do more and worse evil than ever before. You fucking idiots.
