How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

It’s possible that he’s dumb enough to believe that all hurricanes are the same.

No. I didn’t. Even so, I am gobsmacked at how oblivious he is to any shred of human decency.

Of course, the death toll hasn’t been updated for 6 days - I guess it is possible that no one else has died in that time or that one or two or several hundred bodies are still to be found . . .

Well, don’t they all look alike? Just like…

And that’s not even counting what it will climb to when the cholera and such start sweeping through the survivors.

Evidently, Katrina was a real disaster. What happened to Puerto Rico, not so much.

Know what I would do, I would go Russian. Get some bots on social media, targeting, for instance, Cuban American Republicans in Florida. Remind them that if funds to rebuild Puerto Rico are stingy, Puerto Ricans will move. They’ll have to, won’t they? Maybe some fictitious posts from lazy, layabout Puerto Ricans about how to apply for welfare and register to vote at the same time in Miami?

Sometimes, with some people, you have to somewhat dishonestly provoke compassion and humanity. Probably a sin, but one that Jesus would let slide…

Donald’s now shooting paper towels into the crowd, like he’s tossing out souvenier t-shirts

Good times!

Yeah, Katrina won on the death count. Too bad, Puerto Rico-- you just don’t measure up. Maybe next hurricane y’all can do it right! (What do you expect from brown people?)

Yes. The death toll is going to rise fairly dramatically in coming weeks. (And as was also mentioned here, officials don’t know what they’d find if they could get to all the remote settlements and homes right now–it’s likely that the ‘died as of October 3’ toll is much higher than anyone can yet say.)

And Trump is telling them to Have a Good Time.

It’s apparently a go-to remark for him; he used it after Hurricane Harvey, too:

I can’t trace it down to confirm this, but I have a haunting memory of some CNN reporter (Sanjay Gupta?) relating a conversation he’d had with a Puerto Rican official? hospital doctor? about what happened to all the patients in an ICU in the aftermath of the hurricane: “They all died.”

Here’s what Dr. Gupta posted today about the looming medical disaster facing the island.

For vast swaths of the island still, there’s no power to keep medicines refrigerated. There’s no transportation infrastructure to get medicines out to people in the first place. There’s no safe drinking water. There’s no sanitary facilities.

And fuckstain Trump is worried about his precious budget.

Oh, and of course, by the time the true toll of Hurricane Maria is known, Trump, his administratrion, the media, and the public will have long since moved on to other things, and hardly anyone on the mainland will be paying any attention.

I’ve said a couple of times that I don’t think Trump fully understands that any or all of the people of a Puerto Rico are free to move to the US and live and work and vote there. And I think his reaction when he finds this out will be spectacular.

Is it that he doesn’t understand, or that he just doesn’t care?

All his miserable life, it’s always been about him and no one else - ever.

Unless it directly affects him, it doesn’t matter one bit to him.

He’s also focused like a laser on making sure Everyone knows what an A+ job he’s done on Puerto Rico!

Trump’s white-supremacist fans won’t let themselves see it, but the level of disgust at his antics is rising faster than any storm surge. It’s going to be over 70% of Americans, soon, who will have been forced by that disgust to see him for what he is.

Well, that’s the idea. But, of course, the people who voted for him did so intentionally to make the country more divided, to make things worse.

Indeed.

It’s been said before, there are many Trump voters who went with the Orange Turnip just to “piss off the Libtards”. Voting through spite.

They are the idiot passenger who is holding the wheel while the car veers towards the edge of a cliff. “Ha ha” they cry; “I’m really pissing you off! This is fun!”

“Hold my beer and watch this.”

But Puerto Rico is going to cost a lot of money, and make it so that the 1% won’t get as many tax cuts. Sad!

I’m ready to start drafting a constitutional amendment that would allow a recall vote on the President. I could feel my soul withering with each piece of news about his conduct in the last week or so. Somehow the paper towels is just the cherry on the shit sundae. People are without water, food, medicine. They’re being scolded for breaking the budget, and not-so-subtly threatened with a loss of further support from the US. But, hey, here, have some paper towels. Heckuva job, Trumpie!
