How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 1)

I believe I heard it mentioned on one news channel or another that he “almost filled” a ten thousand seat venue.

Damn, I was really hoping for small numbers. Thanks for the info.

Curiously, the article doesn’t actually give numbers.

He probably (maybe?) doesn’t actually think he’s in the WH anymore - though I’m not saying he doesn’t also have dementia.

He either wants his superfans to think he’s “the real president” and really still in the WH or it’s a line left over from when he actually was in the WH and he’s still repeating it unchanged.

He’s really kind of like a Furbie doll. He’s loaded with a certain repertoire of phrases that he repeats over and over because his superfans cheered when he said them, and he’s not able to change them on the fly.

From backwater article:

“…brought big crowds with even bigger energy.”

Say what?

Nice promo.

According to that article, the rally was held at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA. Googling that arena reveals a capacity of 8,300. It’s in a rural area of about 44,000 people. So maybe the author of the article considers that a big crowd. I work for a state university whose football stadium holds 51,000. It’s all about perspective :).

Thanks for those numbers.

As has been mentioned elsewhere, attendees at Trump rallies in the last couple of years tend to be like “Deadheads”—people who drive great distances to see their ‘rock star.’ (For example we nearly always see the exact same “Blacks for Trump” guys behind him. Whether or not Trump pays their expenses to the rallies, I don’t know.)

There would certainly have been some Pennsylvanians in the crowd, but it’s possible that the majority of attendees were “the regulars.”

(Whatever happened to Trump’s plans to start charging people for tickets to his rallies? Haven’t heard anything about that for a while…)

And let’s not forget that these venues are likely chosen to make sure he can fill or nearly fill them and seating arranged so the photos that come out make it look like there are a lot more folks there than there actually are. That keeps the big orange baby jolly.

Oh, yeah. “Fewer than 9,000” can look impressive to Baby, even though it’s not anywhere near the numbers for existing records for political-rally attendance. Not even for Baby himself; for example, here’s a 2015 report on the Olden Days, when he used to do much better:

Liars Circus, a book about this, discusses it.

All this made me curious, so I found this from 2018:

O’Rourke’s political rally was held Saturday night at an outdoor amphitheater in Austin, Texas, with country music singer Willie Nelson and other country music performers onstage. The campaign said that more than 50,000 people had RSVP’d to attend the concert, while actual attendance was estimated at about 55,000.

Several attendance benchmarks were set during the lengthy lead-up to the 2016 presidential election. Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton held the largest political rally on the evening before Election Day in Philadelphia. But Clinton’s political rally featured a star-studded cast of supporters, including Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and both Barack and Michelle Obama.

ABC News reported at the time that it was Clinton’s largest campaign rally, with 33,000 attendees, although local estimates placed the crowd size closer to 40,000. Donald Trump’s largest rally drew about 28,000 people in Mobile, Alabama.

So I guess the lesson is if you want to have a lot of people at your political rally, invite musicians and/or celebrities? The big orange baby is kind of an amalgam of politician and B-list celebrity, so maybe that’s at least part of the attraction.

Puppet Show
AND
Donald Trump

Nigel would be insulted.

Yes, having Willie Nelson perform has got to help attendance. All Trump ever offers is recordings by artists who don’t want him using their stuff (which he ignores) plus Village People and Kid Rock tracks.

Now I’m longing to see Donald dancing around a tiny Stonehenge. I mean, it makes about as much sense as what he actually does at those rallies…

Tautology. Trump is a puppet. (Putin’s Puppet.)

Oh, great. I hope I don’t have a dream about that tonight!

Dancing naked…:flushed:

Trump pay someone’s expenses? Not fucking likely.

No, really! They have been promised a cheque in two weeks!

I really don’t like Trump.

I just don’t understand him…
