Presidential kids aren’t protected after the President leaves office, I believe, unless there are actual threats to them. As far as I know, none of the Trump offspring now have USSS guards.
Children of former presidents, even adult children, can be given Secret Service protection for a time, especially when their corrupt soon-to-be former POTUS father signs an executive order extending their protection for 6 months.
That should be lapsed now. I can’t see Joe Biden ordering additional protection for them for no good reason. Barron should still have it, but it should lapse after age 16, unless he’s already reached it, and then it has lapsed.
Other former Presidents have had their adult children protected for a transition period, but usually college aged kids and usually not for all that long. The Obama daughters weren’t adults. The Bush daughters were in their mid-20s and didn’t get any at all. And neither did Chelsea Clinton (though the Clintons did personally hire former Secret Service for her safety after 9/11).
I’m sure Trump will complain if Biden doesn’t continue the protection just to make news. “So unfair! He wants the Radical Left to attack me!”
That was last year. The Trump kids, save Barron, haven’t had any in well over a year now.
I wonder if, like Dad and his imaginary press corps, they think they still do…
