How much of it will actually reach a victim?
Exactly.
All of it…
If it’s like any of the melon felon’s other grifts, the money started out with the victims.
Oh, you meant victims of the hurricane!
@dougrb Snert.
Good point. I didn’t think of that.
From Trump at Truth Social today.
Trump is blaming Harris for not supplying him with enough Secret Service people and that’s why he could only hold his rally in a theater. And really, 50,000 people were outside? Right. It’s always excuses and whining and more people than anyone has ever seen in history.
I imagine that pretending he can’t get enough security is not going to impress owners even if he did actually offer to pay for a venue in advance.
Only a 750 seat theatre? Hell, my high school had an auditorium with over 800 seats. Couldn’t afford a facility that could handle 50,750, Donnie? Or is it more that you could not attract 50,750 people?
Here’s the entire one plus hour of the Prairie du Chien rally. The first 30 seconds show the crowd and not ever again. I count maybe 20-30.
It’s like he just showed up in town and, oh no, there are 50,000 people here. Whatever shall we do? Well, Harris won’t let us have security so we’ll just have to use this little theater. What kind of idiots does he think would believe that? Oh, yeah, never mind.
Prairie du Chien is a town of 16K on the big river. There is a city of nearly a hundred thousand some 30 miles away (Dubuque Iowa), but to figure that fifty thousand people would make the schlep to that little town to see a washed up sack of fecal matter is a bit of a stretch. Yes, it is a rather red-ish area, but I kind of doubt it is crawling with MAGAt-heads.
For one thing, where would they all park?
The most astonishing thing to me is for him to admit that there were only 750 people in attendance at one of his rallies.
And according to @dougrb, maybe even that was a significant exaggeration. (!!!)
According to the comments for that video (all of which were sane), he admitted that “We lost by just a little bit.”
That video shows how, pardon but it really fits, weird trump is. During the vocal stylings of lee greenwood trump is sort of turning back and forth like he’s on a stuck Lazy Susan. Seriously, what a freak.
It is really hard to tell from the video, because the camera is at the back of the audience (or in the midst of it), centered on CFSG, and you can see some 30~50 people in frame before it zooms in on him, but it does have a narrow view. Realistically, I would say their could be a couple hundred people in front of the camera, extrapolating laterally, and there could be a few hundred behind it. 750 does seem likely to be an over-assessment.
Fifty thousand people would be around 17 thousand vehicles, more or less. That really would choke a town like Prairie du Chien. It is certainly not a matter of the administration providing adequate security. It is a matter of his staff choosing towns where he will be welcomed, which are usually not towns of significant size.
In the end, it seems like he is not happy unless he is whining about something.
Noticed that, have ya?
Seriously, I appreciate your parsing the crowd size. I am heartened by his diminishing crowds.
I do think part of the reason for it is the penny dropping for his boneheaded supporters, realizing that people get killed at his rallies nowadays.
As I noted in another thread, live by the sword, die by the sword. Dipshits.
Did anybody catch him rambling on in North Carolina today? He would spout nonsense, then put his head down and read an obvious scripted statement, then start rambling again. Then call for the most awkward Moment of Silence Ever. It was painful and embarrassing. His cheese has really slipped off the cracker.
I’m trying to make logical sense of all this, and I’m having trouble. Not with your remarks (both of you), which are very good and make sense; but with Trump feeling that if he had more security, he’d have bigger crowds. Is it really that people are afraid to attend (“I might get shot”), or is it just that everybody, even his supporters, has heard it all before? Or could it be that people want to hear actual policy, rather than whining, complaining, and name-calling?
And his complaint that “Kamala won’t supply more security” somehow translates into “election interference,” makes no sense. To Trump, maybe it does, but not to me. I live in reality.
The chance of vance taking over for him disturbs me every bit as much as him getting elected…maybe more.
I thought you were Canadian.
