I guess he has the RW view of “justice” in which he is protected but not bound while everyone under him is bound but not protected.
My initial thought, when seeing that picture, was “why is a Hassidic Jew doing the oath?”.
Then I noticed Melania has no beard.
Exactly my thoughts!
She’s wearing that hat very low. Almost like she doesn’t want to be recognized.
Melania is the beard.
Zing!
Another way he pisses me off:
Years ago, I saw a cartoon wherein two stereotypical chinese men, in their nice robes, with their long queues, walking in a street in China, as one turns to the other to ask, “Did you hear a shot?” – captioned April 19th 1775.
250 years ago this year. With the most worthless and ignorant bag of turds in the WH to mark the day. And Independence Day next year as well. What he signifies is how far we can fall in a mere quarter of a millenium.
That was actually one of my early thoughts after Election Day: the pathetic irony that this idjit, who pretty clearly wants to be a king himself, will lead the nation during the USA 250 / Revolutionary War celebrations.
I was challenged for a coinage. What I came up with off the cuff is that the opposition in the US (and outside, relative to the current regime) must be know as “Anarcissosyndicalists”, struggling against a Narcissosyndicalist government.
He’s making me freaking paranoid is how he’s pissing me off.
Yesterday I got an email in my box saying that as a Tier one (lowest security level) employee I need to be “reinvestigated” every 10 years, and so I should
- Fill out and return the attached Declaration of Federal employment form via encrypted e-mail
- Wait for an e-app submission tp show up in my mail box which will require 5 years of historical information
- Make and appointment to be finger printed.
Now I’ve been here 24 years and have never had to do this. Looking on my institutes website, it appears that Tiers 2-5 have to do this sort of thing periodically but says nothing about Teir-1. Google AI specifically says that Teir ones are exempted. I ask my supervisor about it, and he knows nothing about it. I reply to the email asking whether it should really apply to me and am told that the rule recently changed and they need to update the website. The emailed form is pretty standard (did you register for the draft, do you owe have a criminal record, do you owe the feds money that should be docked from your pay) I remember it from when I first started working. But I’m thinking that the e-survey where there is no paper trail, maybe that is where they start asking the real questions (are you now or have you ever been a member of a liberal message board).
The next day I get word from my supervisor’s supervisor, that it is indeed legit, the rules were changed to include Tier one back in 2022, and several other people in the branch had had to do this in the past. Nothing to worry about, they are just working through the back log and my name came up. If this had been 6 months ago I would have just filled it out jumped through the couple of hoops and not worried about it. But instead I spent several hours trying to track it down and a sleepless night wondering whether the purge was going to get me.
Thanks, Donald.
Sucks Buck.
Just an example of criminals assuming everyone else is a criminal too.
No, my post was probably too long to read to the end, but Trump actually had nothing to do with this requirement, which as it turns out wasn’t nefarious. Its just that with everything going on, I’m jumping at every little twig break. That’s what I blame Trump for.
I bet it gets to the point where you want to consult a lawyer before answering a work email.
But that wasn’t a twig break IMHO. When you have a ‘leader’ that wants nothing more than to stomp on throats, a minion, 2nd class, might just say - “Here’s my chance to get back at any liberals”. And perhaps his brother in law or something.
The whole situation that you found, would piss the hell out of me. x100 because the real clear and obvious traitor is ‘leading’ this country (right off a cliff).
Somehow I feel we are talking past each other, but neither Trump nor any of his minions had anything to do with this email. It was a change in policy that was implemented during the Biden administration. If Harris had been reelected I would have had to fill out the exact same forms which I am confident will turn out to be innocuous (if not I’ll post about it here). The real problem is what Trump has done to my psyche.
Yes. Sorry.
If I, a long term 3+ decades of service, had my loyalty questioned. By anyone. I would have to have to think a bit, and probably take early retirement. That’s where they would see that loyalty is two sided. Best of luck if I walk out.
As it stands, they know I’m leaving. And I consider my team friends. So if they need to call me once in a blue moon once I’m gone, I’ll be ok with that.
I didn’t notice it upstream, but … this … just … this:
Apart from “I need a whole lot more dietary fiber,” just WTF does he think this image says, and to whom?
Those are rhetorical questions. Still, it sickens me.
He’s probably trying to look like a tough guy so is imitating The Rock.
He’s no Dwayne Johnson, though.
And why have none of the late night shows compared this photo to his mug shot? As I recall, they look very similar.
I think that was purposeful. It is, God help us, his official White House portrait.
