Well the plan is something stupid enough for Trump to invent. But I think he planned to sell them. I also think he would conveniently have at Top Secret folder at the dinner table to try to impress people. “Yes they still want my input on these matters”
Thats too clever for him to have come up with.
He’s exactly clever enough to have come up with it. Smart enough to think of blackmail, and stupid enough to try to blackmail the U.S. government on issues of national security.
The Goldilocks Zone of treasonous idiocy.
I can absolutely see him just leaving top secret folders lying about to randomly impress fawning guests.
‘Huh? Oh this? Oh that’s just some super secret, super important stuff. I was gonna work on that later, you know.’
“Tell us exactly who has what files. And by the way - The United States Code also provides that a person attempting to communicate with any foreign government about the United States’ national defense will be punished by death or by imprisonment under 18 U.S.C. §794.”
To show off them off to Kid Rock, for example. Should we be concerned some documents might be at Bedminster? It might make sense to spread the “good stuff” around just in case, were I Trump.
Did they get all the files? I suppose they are still filtering the papers trying to figure that out.
I’m not criticizing Cohen’s argument here, but his example is the pits.
Russia has spy satellites in orbit. I’m sure they have found out the location of every single missile silo the United States owns, and have for many years, to just about any level of accuracy you could wish. China, ditto.
Most other members of the nuclear club either have a friendly relationship with the U.S. or don’t have the range and accuracy of delivery systems to make an attack on U.S. strategic forces anything other than suicidal.
But then again, perhaps Donald Trump overvaluing something he has is very much par for the course with him.
Yeah, I don’t know how much of a secret it is, where our stockpiles of weapons are. Case in point, I used to work at a base (and grew up around there, since I was a little kid) that has one of the US’s two strategic nuclear weapon facilities. (Bangor Naval Base.) Security was CRAZY tight near the MLA (Missile Laydown Area) for obvious reasons. Armed Marines crawling all over, constant credential checks (at gunpoint) for anyone visiting. They are very, very careful about protecting that stuff.
But its existence isn’t a secret. Everyone knows where it is. Growing up, it was assumed that if there was ever a nuclear exchange with the USSR we were toast.
Yeah, I explored an abandoned silo once. Huge under ground complex. Was weird that it was not sealed up. When I look back on it, it was really, really stupid. But, quite cool. The floor of some areas sat on HUGE springs. I guess for shock from a counter attack.
Maybe also shock from launching a missile. (Just a WAG, I have no expertise at all.)
I was in my early 20’s. The place was probably full of asbestos too. We went in a ‘hatch’ at ground level that someone had propped open and went down a ladder. Probably an egress that was some how missed during de-commission. But, I’m hi-jacking.
You can still visit one!: https://titanmissilemuseum.org/
Cool. Kind of like I remember. We used flashlights, and climbed down a ladder to get to it. And shall we say, it was in a bit of disrepair.
Hell, if you want to (and have the money), you can BUY one.

More likely, Trump has the names of covert sources in Russia that he would threaten to expose if prison looms.
It’s this.
Yep. An ego boost. He wouldn’t have the first clue how to decipher what’s in them. I can see him inviting in a ‘guest’, let them look over all of them and Trump asking which one do you want for $10,000,000 or so.
He would think he made the best deal EVER, cause it’s just some words on paper.
The US had plans to trundle 50 Peacekeeper ICBMs around in disguised boxcars but the idea was scrapped after the Soviet Union collapsed. The Soviets managed to deploy their version very shortly before the collapse.
China has test-fired a missile from rail car and North Korea says they are working on one.
