How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

I have just been notified that my Medicare Advantage insurance provider, Martin’s Point, is pulling out of my state at the end of the year. United Healthcare and Anthem are also pulling out. Harvard Pilgrim pulled out last year.

The result is, there are no longer any Medicare Advantage insurance providers left in New Hampshire. Unless something happens before the end of open enrollment ends on December 7, my onky option will be original Medicare with Part D prescription coverage. No dental, no vision, high copay and higher premiums.

This is entirely due to Trump’s DOGE cuts to Medicare reimbursements. Insurance companies have done the math, and Medicare supplement plans like Advantage are no longer profitable for them.

Fuck you Elmo, and fuck you Doctor Oz.

May I share this (anonymously)?

Yesss. five character minimum

I think you are a few Fucks short, My Friend. Sorry about that shit, and Best Wishes going forward.

I’m running out of fucks. Soon, I will have no fucks to give. Then where will I be?

A Man Out Standing in your Field

The Court uses its emergency docket to overturn its precedent and allow Trump to fire nonpartisan technocrats serving on independent agencies. This allows him to rule like a Dictator and further errodes the power of Congress. The Supreme Court did it without having to consider the full issues or issue an opinion why they were overturning dozens of prior Supreme Court rulings.

United States Constitutional Democracy is now officially dead: 1789-2025.

I first read that as oinky which seems appropriate.

@Fear_Itself Thanks. I’ll take a screenshot of the text (without your username) later.

Damn it, shoulda clicked on the damned link…

Well, what you have to realize that the former precedent ruled that a DEMOCRAT could not do this. Now that a Republican is in power, it’s OK.

That’s the way this Supreme Court rules now - it’s quite transparent.

In future, if there is ever a Democrat in the executive office, this rule will be overturned once again, and the Democrat will be forbidden to do this.

They don’t see hypocrisy in this - as far as they are concerned, this is simply the way things should be.

The Constitution clearly states,
Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government

I never noticed that — ha!

Truly miraculous since the Republican party did not yet exist when the Constitution was drawn up and ratified.

Neither was the Democratic party for that matter, but since it is not mentioned in the article that’s moot.

I’ve just been laid off and I’m having to figure out Medicare and Social Security. (Since I’m almost 67 I’m eligible to retire. I just was continuing to work for the medical insurance. Joke’s on me!) What exactly is Medicare Advantage, anyway, and why do I need it? I’m in Texas, so hopefully I haven’t been screwed over, too.

I’m so sorry for your situation.

Medicare Advantage is a supplemental private insurance to cover the gaps of original Medicare. Basically, you sign up with a plan, which receives your Medicare payment plus whatever premium they charge you directly, and the plan covers you like the usual medical insurance plans. There are lots of different providers, each with different plans offering different levels of coverage. Do a Google search for “Medicare Advantage plans” plus your zip code and you’ll get a choice of whatever plans are available to you. Then you can check online what each one covers/doesn’t cover, co-pays, etc.

I’ve had this bookmarked for a while, in the hopes that it is still around when it’s time for me to do Medicare.

Specifically, this passage (post 2):

[quote]

America, I’m gonna make your decision simple for you: UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT AFFORD THE PREMIUMS, OR UNLESS YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA OR CALIFORNIA, ALWAYS GO FOR THE MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN, ESPECIALLY DURING THE PERIOD YOU ARE GUARANTEED THE DAMNED THING! And the reason is simple – a $200 premium is $2,400/year, which can cover hundreds of thousands of medical costs. And while that $0 premium for the Medicare Advantage plan sounds enticing, very few Medicare Advantage plans have Max Out of Pocket costs as low as $2,400, most averaging $4,000 and hundreds of plans with $7,000+ Max OOP’s. And I’m telling you, for those seniors on limited incomes, the ones who pay that $185 MS premium upfront are always happier with their plans than those with $0 MA plans who pay to use. And since I’m going to be a senior one day, I, too, will probably be happier paying that premium up front.

I concur - Medicare Supplement over Medicare Advantage.
