How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

OTIS handles lifts better.

Here’s the problem.

Now he wants to move next summer’s World Cup games away from those dangerous cities. If, of course, he decides it’s unsafe.

President Donald Trump said Thursday he would consider moving 2026 World Cup matches out of cities he believes are unsafe, including Seattle, if local leaders “don’t follow his immigration orders.”

No big city is “safe”; you can’t put that many people in one area and not end up with a dangerous person or group here and there. Statistically speaking, it’s going to happen. If 1 out of every 1,000 people is a violent criminal, you’re unlikely to find even one in a group of 100, but you’ll have many in a group of 100,000.

But Seattle isn’t that bad. Houston is much worse. Memphis, Little Rock, Kansas City, Birmingham, Shreveport, Springfield, Nashville, Tulsa, Greensboro, Salt Lake City. All more dangerous cities, but they’re in red areas so I’m sure he’d favor hosting in those places instead.

He also mentions Chicago, that’s city is much safer (per capita) than Seattle. Now, I’m only looking at violent crime rates, since that’s what he’s talking about with murders and shootings.

But yeah, the resistance to ICE and Trump himself is what he really cares about. “Safety” is a bullshit excuse not backed by statistics. For the most part, the red cities (or cities in overall red areas as cities tend to be more blue just because they are cities) tend to be more violent than blue cities.

Houston maybe not. Certain more violent crime than Seattle but the big Texas cities are blue for the most part and Houston’s been targeted by the Republicans for years. See: ballot dropbox debacle, state takeover of the city schools, extreme gerrymandering. But it’s also in a red state and it’s the oil capital, so probably there’s enough people in the region already paying the Cheetogeld to stay safe.

Nashville is probably ok but it’s the only other one on that list that might give me pause.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!

Losing your Medicare Advantage plans, losing your ACA subsidies, now the price of about 60% of American drugs are going to be doubled.

I haven’t voted for these assholes on a national level since 2000, a decision which looks better every passing day.

“When I was in exile”. Oh, so now he didn’t lose an election, he was just in exile from his rightful throne. I don’t think he’s ever put it that way before.

I guess you can read the “rigged elections” mention from a few different viewpoints.

The Felon In Charge demanded that all states submit a detailed list of their voter roles some time ago. MN refused to do so, stating - you know - the fucking laws, both federal and state, against such an action and the need to protect voters’ privacy. So now the FIC has told the DOJ to file a lawsuit against MN. This is a blatant attempt to suppress the vote and gain information for ICE to act on. I have to believe that three more years of this uncontested bullshit will leave our country in tatters on every level. The repercussions will be felt for years to come.

I’m sure that any day now the Republicans in Congress will realize how dangerous Trump’s actions are and rein him in.

How does the President have any say in where the games are played?

Because FIFA head Infantino likes to sit on Trump’s knee and be a good boy.

Perhaps he’s the Estein files that don’t exist in Donny’s mind?

Back to the Felon. So drug prices (tariffs) are going up 100%. A week or so ago the prices were going down 1500%. I’m so confused - or perhaps someone else is?

All I can say is that we are finally putting tariffs on kitchen cabinets. Finally! Oh, Lee Greenwood, where’s that inspirational chorus?

It’s means we’ll be getting back 3,000% of the drug price!
Or insurance companies will finally be able to tell us to die because that’s cheaper.

I was carrying my wife on my insurance. We are both about to retire, so she switched over to Medicare. her medication went from $120 to $600. Now it might be $1200.

That fucker.

The same request was made of the Soviet of Washington, and the Secretary of State made basically the same response (i.e., “Go pound sand”). Last I looked Washington wasn’t among the states being sued, but I rather imagine that’s just an oversight which will be corrected in due time.

Even if and when the lawsuit fails, it will still serve the purpose of harassing a state and state officials who fail to fall in line, and cause people to doubt the integrity of the voting process and be worried about participating in it.

A big fuck you to whichever person however many decades ago decided to term the two classes of government workers who would or would not be furloughed “essential” and “non-essential”. This has the obvious implication that if about half of the workers are “non-essential” we should get rid of them and save the government money. A better term would have been “time-sensitive”. They are workers who jobs won’t have immediate implications if they take a couple of weeks off, but that doesn’t mean they are superfluous. If money is tight at the end of the month getting your oil changed may not be essential in the same way as buying your meds, but that doesn’t mean getting your oil changed is a waste of money.
