Last couple weeks Trump was publicly pondering sending Tomahawks to Ukraine. Putin at first said it wouldn’t matter in the war yet might figure into Russia-American relations. Last week Medvedev threatened nuclear retaliation if they were used and on Thursday trump and putin had a phone conversation, after which trump seemed to really shift to “no Tomahawks”
These long-range cruise-missiles would indeed be a game changer in favor of Ukraine. So whatever was said between Putin and trump isn’t known, and exactly what was said in the shoutout between Zelensky and trump (cursing) did reportedly come down to “No Tomahawks for you” and Vlad said he’ll destroy Ukraine.
ETA: In the recent attack on Iran, whatever wasn’t sent “Bunker Busters” got Tomahawks fired from submarines. You do not want to be on the receiving end of the latter.
If used on Russia, it would be such an obvious entry into the War by the USA that someone might actually declare one.
All true except the “carrying drugs” part. We have zero evidence of that. (Even if we did, it would still be murder…but we don’t even have that much.)
The risk of hitting something/someone was not a mistake. It was a deliberate reckless act against Californian civilians (there was no other reason to shoot the ammo over Interstate 5 – this is not normally done.)

I can’t believe it, but I am actually glad Putin said this and Trump listened. While I absolutely want Russia completely expelled because of their war crimes and they should owe massive reparations to Ukraine for this unprovoked invasion bullshit, if the US gives Ukraine weapons that (for example) get fired directly into Moscow, that would be a hellish escalation that would make things worse for all sides, the US included.
So we’ll take that as a nomination for Putin for next years Nobel? For stopping escalating a War (where Ukraine has much materiel coming from Europe) to becoming a bigger, “hellish escalation” as you put it.
Putin could just retaliate fiercely against Ukraine. Yet if the sticks are dropped and gloves come off only the Pentagon has (eta: may have) a clue about approximate number and general placement of Russia’s subs - and that’s where they are most dangerous.
So now it’s a “deal”. We can all relax. That $20B$40B blank check might buy some Argentine Beef, and American beef farmers, already suffering with tariffs, yet not dying, are raising complaints that this is patently unfair. Trump President Shit Bomber knows beef deals. What do those young lady farmers know?

I anticipate more open transaction than with the last term. I’d guess that Trump believes America owes him a couple of billion dollars for all the fines and lawyer fees and lost time and pain and suffering and not being able to defraud people he was unfairly burdened with.
