I saw a social media post from an obvious conservative who thought it was “ironic” that someone who “spewed so much hate” was “killed by his own leftist son.” It seemed kind of out of the blue to me (though I understood its origins), but this adds a lot of context.

I don’t have any impressive invective, just: trump is a disgusting, disgraceful piece of shit. According to this article, he doubled down yesterday re: his Reiner comments, because of course he did.
While taking questions from reporters in the Oval Office on Monday afternoon, Trump doubled down on his earlier comments — even after several Republicans had already condemned them. “I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all,” Trump said. “I thought he was very bad for our country.”
After hearing Trump’s comments on Carl Reiner’s murder, it occurred to me that i was on speaking terms with any Trump voter, I’d call him up every morning and ask him to defend Trump’s latest disgusting act and listen to the hem and haw and squirm to defend the indefensible. I’d end each call with “talk to you tomorrow.”
