How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

At least Trump didn’t think the Germans had attacked Pearl Harbor. Then it would really have been over!

Here ya go! The link. And the quote:

“The salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of whom will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesn’t even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it.”

Forget it, he’d be rolling.

He’s pissed me off today (or rather yesterday) because he’s taken an enormous shit on the doorstep of the world and now he wants to toddle off and let the world scrape it up and clean it off. C***.

Trump has repeatedly indicated that he doesn’t understand that while unpredictability can be useful when dealing with an adversary it is counter productive when dealing with a friend. This is probably because he has never had any real friends only people who are trying to use him and people he has bullied into submission.

Whenever he does something like this it always reminds me of this scene from Airplane!.

Well, he indicated that he has misunderstood what NATO does: if you are attacked, then NATO helps. If you launch an attack on your own, then NATO has no obligation to help. It’s just that easy.

Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised at Trump’s non-knowledge of NATO rules. Trump still thinks that foreign countries pay his tariffs, instead of American importers and consumers.

He also thinks that member countries pay dues to NATO and that everyone is in arrears except us.

This is exactly spot on. It’s a part of the whole malignant narcissist thing.

Something fundamental about Trump’s psychology, that’s important to understanding why he acts the way he does, is that he doesn’t recognize the existence of “allies” or “friends.” At least not in the way most of us here would define those terms. Friends and allies are people who are equal to yourself. They have agency and their concerns are worth consideration. Trump has only ever been at the top of the food chain in any room that he steps into. Whether that be a boardroom or into a negotiation. He has subordinates and he has enemies. Equality is a thing that doesn’t exist in his world and it never has. He’s never had a need for it.

This helps to explain why he treats fellow NATO countries as vassals. Everything is hierarchical. And he’s always at the top. I think he fundamentally, and truly, doesn’t understand why the leaders of other countries do not simply capitulate to him the way the entire Republican party has. It’s the way he’s always been treated. His entire life, and that includes his personal relationships, is viewed through a billion dollar corporation’s org chart.

He views the UK, France, Germany, Japan etc… as subordinate countries to the United States. The fact that he did a dumb thing, and then expects others to clean it up, is no different to him than trying to tell one of his bought and paid for lawyers, or mid-level managers at Trumpco, to clean up a gigantic mess that he made at one of his own companies. When bribery and bullying don’t work he has nothing left. He doesn’t understand the concept of diplomacy. Thinking that two people can both make out better on the other end of a deal is weakness to him. So all he has left is temper tantrums, lying, and puffing his chest out. His reality distortion field is encountering a very real circumstance where it’s failing spectacularly, that doesn’t mean accountability necessarily, but it’s a thing to watch. I have to agree with those here who have said the most likely way the Iran war ends is with him declaring victory and just pulling out without any thought to what comes after. He’ll declare victory, and the Middle East will be left more unstable, more violent, and exploding in slow motion for who knows how many future generations. But that doesn’t affect him or his voters. So it doesn’t matter.

I’m reminded of people saying 20 or 30 years ago that the federal government should be ran like a business. If we had a brilliant businessman in the oval office then we wouldn’t constantly be running a deficit and increasing the debt every quarter the way we’ve been doing my entire life at the very least. But this is how a federal government being ran like a business looks. And it’s disgusting.

You are 100% correct.

He sees every transaction in life, no matter how big or small, in terms of winning and losing. There can ever be only one winner and it has to be him. Every time and in all circumstances. Therefore, everyone else is a loser. He has no peers or friends, only people he hasn’t thrown under the bus yet because he’s still using them for some kind of self-aggrandizement. Remember back when every handshake was a battle that he had to win. (Maybe that’s what happened to his hand.)

But that doesn’t affect him or his voters.

FTFY – he doesn’t give a shit about his voters.

According to the AP the campaign promises he has kept are,

  • Release the JFK assassination files
  • Increase the national energy supply – by digging coal and drilling for oil
  • Withdraw from the Paris agreement
  • Sign pardons for the J6 convicts
  • Make the Trump tax cuts permanent

Four of the five were by executive order. How many of them will make voters’ lives better in the long run?

TBF we don’t have a brilliant businessman in the Oval Office so it hasn’t been tried yet – not that I have high expectations if it was.

FTR I do agree with both portions of this statement. Trump is not brilliant at anything, much less a businessman that he tries to portray himself as.

But my broader point is that the federal government is not a business. It doesn’t have the same goals and it doesn’t work in the same way even if on the surface it seems to have the same form. Wanting a businessman in the oval office shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what government is and how it’s meant to work.

So, Trump has put out word that the war (sorry, excursion) with Iran may be winding down soon, while at least 2200 Marines are headed for the excursion zone and Israel says stepped-up attacks are in the works.

Such brilliant mind games, keeping the Iranians off balance. Trump is playing 5-D chess here and driving the liberal media out of its mind. :money_mouth_face: :baseball:

Thank you for sharing that. I was going to, but I thought I’d read to the end of the thread first.

I was trying to put it in words too. But that’s it. He’s a liquidator. He hurts everything that he comes in contact with.

This was his response to the death of Robert Mueller:

Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!

President DONALD J. TRUMP

When Trump is gone, this entire planet will have a party that will put Mardi Gras to shame.
