New info about the reflecting pool debacle.
The company that repaired the pool 15 years ago was asked to do the repairs this time. They declined because two of Trump’s demands were determined to be unfeasible. (stupid).
- The dark blue paint would increase water temperatures, and lead to increased algae growth. (the company knew this would happen)
- The timeline to get it done by July 4, was impossible, because this would lead to a failure of adhesion of the paint,leading to it falling apart. The company knew this.
So that’s why the truck bed repair company (Rhino linings) with contacts to Trump got the job - because they were too stupid to understand why these two demands were idiotic.
So once again, the opinion of a qualified, experienced contractor is thrown away, because they want to conform to reality, instead of Trump’s preferred fantasy world.
I think everyone should know that “Rhino Linings” is a useless company, and their products should be avoided at all costs.
The policy of the so-called trump administration is to get rid of all experts across the board in all areas-- scientists, engineers, medical experts, military leaders, experienced civil servants, including anyone who actually KNOWS anything about the job they are hired to do, whether on land, sea, or in the air. Fire 'em all! Replace them with sycophants who don’t know shit from Shinola.

Regarding the algae growth, the New York Times reports (gift link) that generator-powered nano-bubblers were in place around the reflecting pool (to keep it clear of algae) until the June 12 UFC fight, when they were removed. They were reinstalled a couple of days later but by then the algae started to bloom.
It’s fuckups all the way down.

It seems unlikely. Any such plan would probably take longer to explain than the attention span of any who would need to agree to it, nor would such agreement last very long.
The “plans” to the extent they exist appear to be of the wishful thinking variety. Iran is among the costliest of these “surely, things will go exactly the way I envision it” daydreams. At least the costliest this last month. But the reflecting pool, the East Wing, the tariffs, etc, etc, etc are all examples. You can see glimpses of a rationale but things that would only work if everybody else in the world had suffered brain damage

Fuck me, the narcissism leaps out every single time The Slimy Turd opens his mouth. But at least he was a wee bit more lucid back then, and could keep a train of thought on the track for longer than 10 second bites.
