I’ve brought that up, too. Especially since Trump is also at fault in the natural world for why it’s so much worse here. Though I base it on a very popular Scripture that they keep bringing up in regards to the pandemic:
I argue that everyone is saying to do all the other parts, but rarely talk about the one I bolded. And, when they do, they seem to ignore things like refusing to make the tiniest sacrifice (wearing a mask) to protect others from the disease. (In the Bible, you’d have to just stay home until you were free of the disease, if you go by the rules in the Torah). And then there’s the election and continued support of an obviously evil leader, who doesn’t even try to hide it. How often were evil leaders cited in the Bible as those who led a nation in their wicked ways, requiring God’s judgement?
(I want to also throw in making abortion so important when the Bible didn’t consider it so. I mean, we know from history that Roman society used an abortifacient to the point that they drove the plant it was derived from to extinction. Surely that’s common enough for a mention. Even if it’s wrong, it clearly isn’t more important than the stuff Jesus or the apostles did say, like the requirements for leaders.)
BTW, the fact that Trump isn’t well liked all over the world is the one reason I avoid calling him “the Antichrist.” But the Bible says there are many antichrists, only culminating in the worst one.
