"How I spent my Dope suspension", by etv78

Dope wise, I did read the board, noting threads I want to.post to.

Non Dope news: was in hospital and rehab for broken leg, while in rehab, developed wound on butt, which sent me BACK to rehab. Brace for leg gave me wounds on leg.

Oh, and I got into grad school. And back to dealing with melodramatic mom.

But did you learn your lesson?

Sorry about your medical stuff. Congrats on grad school.

Dope wise, or life wise?

If you have to ask…

Just kidding, welcome back!

“No one puts Baby in the corner!”

No?

Assuming you mean Dope wise: guess I have to accept that the board isn’t moded the way I would.

That’s a real-world lesson to keep in mind.

Butthurt detected.

True wulf. Cinnamon: how’s the veal.

Congrats on the grad school.

TY Smurf! Needed to take Inc on last BA class, so it’s delayed a year. At this point, what’s another year?

The vast majority probably feel the same.

Let me offer you some advice, and this isn’t meant to be nasty: I think you need to try and develop something of a thicker skin. Stop taking everything so personally, and just let it roll off your back. Okay? It’ll save you a lot of stress.

Other than that – welcome back.

Congrats on getting things together.

Glad you’re back. Missed you.

Just want to mention that this strikes me as the perfect Doper first response to the OP.
mmm

“Inc”? Since you’re in rehab, could you spend an extra 11 seconds on each post typing things out - you know, for coherence?

Too bad you can’t resolve your incomplete over the summer, or work it out with your grad program to finish it in the fall while starting.

Have you explored such options?

Or, considering it was a medical excuse but he was set for graduation and had access to the internet in rehab and at home, he couldn’t have wrapped it up via distance learning after communicating with the professor and/or dean of his program. Far easier to retake the entire class in a year.

True- I’ve had students in such situations, and if they’re motivated and reach out to me, we often (not always) can find a way to make things work.
