She had blood alcohol at .13 at 8:30 in the morning, I say takes 2 to tango. I’d say we should not place all the blame on him. His was .04. she’s a big girl and doesn’t have to live there if she doesn’t want to.
Well, I’ll await the jury’s findings. Normally I wouldn’t believe Denise Richards on anything as she is insane crazy, but this sounds like two incidents, so I won’t be going on any dates with “Carlos”.
People always say this and I have to wonder if they even bother to read the news. Just about every time someone is arrested for a crime it’s eventually reported that there’s a long rap sheet predating it, be they poor ass gangbangers or rich CEOs or off-duty police officers.
What do you mean?
Celebrities always get special treatment. Any crime perpetrated by a big enough celebrity will result in consequences far milder than a regular person.
No, they don’t. At all.
Regular people get very mild consequences all the time. Celebrities are often made an example of by look-at-me judges. It’s confirmation bias, you read about celebs getting probation or having charges dropped, but you don’t read about the thousands of regular joes who get the same treatment.
The only thing the celebs have going for them is the access to pricey lawyers who can plead their cases. But most typical middle class working folks have the same access and will spend the money to avoid charges and plead their cases. Relatively speaking it’s pricier, but I’m sure just about everyone on this MB would spend the $3-8,000 it’d cost to fight a drug charge or assault case and they’d get off with a slap on the wrist too.
I agree, but not because the public doesn’t want it to be taken seriously. The fact is that when it is just two people at home and a fight occurs, it is simply a “he said, she said”. And usually the next day after sobering up, the “she said” changes her story because she doesn’t want to see her husband/boyfriend punished.
And, not to hijack the thread, but the #1 reason that DV cases are fought so drastically anymore is the lifetime gun possession ban for a conviction. In the past, maybe a guy thought it was best to plead guilty, pay a couple a hundred bucks and go to classes. Now he knows that his guns will be taken for life, so he mortgages the farm to hire a lawyer to fight the case, and he won’t plead out. And now the wife will be more apt to change her story because she knows how much her husband enjoys deer hunting.
So, police have to enact more procedures to document cases better to stand up to the attacks from defense lawyers. It really has made these cases giant clusterfucks.
What does that have to do with the line you quoted?
Or maybe she’s a crackhead.
To further that, a celebrity who might be getting in trouble for something is gonna make the news with a whole lot less evidence than average joe. You’re more likely to hear about cases that are less sure.
Are there cases where celebrities get off by paying really high priced lawyers? Sure. But most of the time this is not the case.
