During the last week every time I go on E-bay it’s really slow, and loads “herky jerky”. If I click on an auction item, it takes about 15 seconds to even start loading the page, then it loads part of the page, then doesn’t do anything for about 10 seconds, then loads a bit more, pauses, and finishes. It should not take over a minute to load one page. That is slower than a 56k modem. I have Road Runner, and up until last week it took 2 seconds to load a page on E-bay. I’m on E-bay alot looking for collectables, so this is driving me nuts.
Is this happening to any of you? Is it E-bay, or is it me?
I’m not having any problems on other web sites. I posted this on GQ but got a dismal response. I just want to know if anyone else gets this on E-bay.
Ebay is working fine for me…by any chance are the auctions you are viewing the annoying ones loaded with graphics and music? Those will slow you down and I click off them as soon as I see what’s coming…
It’s not Ebay. One of the biggest Auction helper sites (andale.com) has been experiencing “Denial of Service” attacks. I put it in quotes, because I don’t fucking believe them. The attack is supposedly over, and I can’t get to my mom’s auctions on a CABLE MODEM… (Can we tell I’m pissed off over this?)
I’m not sure I follow you, Falcon. Why would your cable modem connection be less affected by a DOS attack than a dial-up connection? Or did I mis-understand your rant?
If the DOS attack was over, I should be able to acess Andale on my cable connection in about 2 seconds. I can’t. It’s still slow as hell. Hence, I think they be having other issues.
And they also aren’t refunding ANY money to people who lost money over this. Not a good sign, IMO.
