Well I stayed up to 4:00 central. And I am tired and discusted. With all this technology they still can’t decide who won by NOW!!!
11:30 CT, but woke up in time to hear Florida called for Bush at 2:20AM. Then tried to get back to sleep.
Went to a victory party til 10 p.m. Then came home went to bed at 11:00. Woke up at 4 to see…nothing!
3:30 AM CST… but in all fairness, it wasn’t exactly just for the election. I also have a 5-page paper due today that I still haven’t finished…
Was watching the results come in, while chatting with my boyfriend on line (he was stuck at work)… signed off shortly after he did, around midnight. Gave up trying to stay awake around 12:30 in the morning. Woke up at 2:30 to hear Tom Brokaw say that Gore was “ready to concede,” at which point I, a Gore voter, thought, “Damn,” and went to bed.
Of course, I now realize that if I have the timeline right, what Brokaw was actually saying was that Gore had retracted his initial concession and was ready to truly concede only after the Florida thing got straightened out.
Can you imagine being Bush or Gore right now? Talk about anxious!
I went to bed when the Comedy Central coverage ended at 11:00 EST. I figured, “I’ll either be really depressed or relatively depressed when I hear who won tomorrow. No need to be tired, too.”
I stayed up until 2:30, when CBS called Florida for Bush and went to bed thinking Bush was going to be our next president.
Apparently I should have stayed up all night…
I fell asleep several times while watching the results and listening to the talk. Woke up about 3ish to hear that FL was won by Bush. Went to bed, but work up at 6.30 and went online only to hear that Gore was ahead in pop vote and FL results were ripped back once again. Kids woke up and found it hard to believe that Gore hadn’t won [they went to bed at 9 when FL PA and MI had been declared for Gore]. Only living animals not confused or tired are the two dogs who cuddle the night away.
Me? I’m tired and almost willing to throw daggers at Nader because I’m cranky as a tired old woman.
I stayed up till 11:30 PST, when they announced Bush was projected to win. Extremely depressed and upset, and I through up my hands and questioned the stupidity of this country. Imagine my joy when I woke up this morning and realized there is a recount.
I’d like to see a victory speech by one of the two who will be president, then have them nod off part way through simply from having stayed up too long.
1:30 (which, considering I have to be up at 5 is pretty damn late).
Knew I wasn’t going to see how the Presidential election would turn out. was however, interested in our states Senatorial and Rep races (those weren’t decided til late this morning). was also interested in the ballot proposal for school vouchers (which went down roughly 70 - 30 ).
another late night tonight (gig for work) and tomorrow as well (son is working). Maybe I’ll sleep this weekend.
I stayed up until 1:30 AM EST, and then was briefly woken up by Mr. Del at um, maybe 2:30 EST with the report that FL was called for Bush, and then again at some other ungodly hour with the news that FL would be recounted.
This morning I was almost too tired to care who won. The whole experience (every network giving a different count, FL on again/off again, Gore concedes/no he doesn’t) seemed cruel and unusual.
I watched until around 11:00pm EST when I saw that Hillary won the Senate race… then I tried to register clinton2004.com and saw it was already taken… damn
I figured they wouldn’t be able to tell the presidential winner so I went to bed.
I was hovering around the boards and chat and watching TV until about 11:30 Pacific Time. As soon as I signed off, ABC announced that CNN had declared Bush the winner. I moaned and went to sleep.
Then I woke up this morning to a brand new day. Florida, Iowa and Oregon were still in play (theoretically).
What a wacky night. It was alot more fun than seeing Ronald Reagan kick the snot out of Walter Mondale back in '84.
I stayed up until midnight, waiting to hear that Florida had gone to Gore. Woke up this morning at 6, STILL no news!
Fell asleep around 3:30 CST, hoping they would have the recount by this morning. Well . . . still no news. Is it really that difficult? Are we drawing this out too long? Should we just say screw it and let Clinton stay for another four years (yes, I know impossible, but considering this may never end)? Another thing–as close as this is, what if the electors decide to defect to the other side? We might just get a surprise in December.
We went to watch TV in bed about 9EST or so, some time before 10, hubby fell asleep so I turned the TV off - figgered I’d hear first thing in the morning when my clock radio went off… glad I didn’t lose sleep over it…
Went to bed around 3:00 Eastern (roughly normal). Woke up at 9:00, checked CNN, groaned, and went to class.
11:30 EST. This was worst than watching a close football game.
Went to sleep around 10:00. I figured that I’d find out in the morning. I woke up to the morning news saying that the Fort-Worth paper had sent out a “Bush Wins” headline, but that it still was not decided.
I guess we’ll hear by weeks end or so.
