I’m not going start mod/admin-bashing, I know they’re busy and have a hell of a lot to do but the thing is, I e-mailed TubaDiva about a name change nearly a week ago and nothing’s happened yet.
There seems to be two possibilities
1)TubaDiva’s busy and hasn’t got round to it yet - fine I’ll wait.
2)My e-mail didn’t get through for whatever reason. I didn’t want to send another one in case 1) is true.
So, does it normally take this long or am I just being impatient?
Probably #1. La Diva is VERY busy. I can’t overstate that. Biz-E. I’d bet it’s highly unlikely she’s intentionally ignoring your request. It’s possible the email never made it through (but if it was because of a full mailbox or inaccurate email address, you’d know by now), but not likely. Why don’t you email her again, but politely and tactfully remind her of your request?
She of the Large Horn was out of town for a few days, at the drag races or somesuch. Apparently, she is the soul that times men’s tries. In general, if you’ve got something administerial you want done, it’s best to e-mail both Tuba and Lynn-- They try to arrange that at least one of them is available at a time. Don’t be afraid of Lynn, she doesn’t bite. Well, OK, she does, but she’s on our side.
There absolutely, positively, imperatively, unquestionably, undeniably, irrefutably HAS to be a rule that if you ever change your name on here you have to mention the change in your sig for at least six (6) months.
Personally, I think that you should only get one chance to pick your own UserName. After that, if you want a change, you have to open up a thread in IMHO, offer 3 possibilities, open the floor to to other nominations and after 3 days have a vote on what your new name will be. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Funky McDuck … Chicken Lover … that kind of fowl language should be avoided at all costs, I think.
