I shave and shampoo in the shower and brush my teeth after getting out. About 12-15 minutes.
Male, 50s
5-10 minutes, but we share so it’s really only 2.5-5 minutes a piece.
Female. 15 minutes to shower and dry off on shampoo days and 10 minutes to shower and dry off on no shampoo days. If you want me dressed that’s another 5 minutes, but I’m not going anywhere with wet hair.
Male.
Depends on the time of year and if it is sunny or not.
Very few folks here (tropics) have hot water heaters. They are just not needed. In the summer, I sometimes take four showers a day. I sweat a lot and don’t use a/c. But they are very quick. Maybe 60 seconds.
There are about 6 days a year (in the winter) when you wish you had a hot water heater. And those showers are very rapid. Maybe 20 seconds. Unless the sun is out, and warms the water pipes on the roof. And those are enjoyed until the last drop of warm water. Maybe 2 minutes.
My normal shower includes shampooing and conditioning my copious hair, then putting some product on after. When I do this at the gym it takes about 10 mins.
There are variations.
Female.
From getting up in the morning to ready to walk out the door - 30 minutes.
Dern hippies, always foolin’ around with the soup and who knows what all!
Female. 3-5 minutes if I’m not washing/conditioning, 15-30 if I am. It can take a long time to get shampoo out of thick hair.
I used to be a quick showerer, but then I realized I was not doing a very good job cleaning myself.
I shave in the shower, so it takes me longer.
Male: I think 5-6 minutes depending on whether I shampoo (twice a week). But I should really time it. The water is running only half that time.
I do a quick 2-min shower every morning. Add another minute for brushing my teeth (I do this in the shower to save time and water). I don’t get dressed immediately. I usually answer email first to give my pores a chance to close.
In the evening, if I don’t shampoo, my shower takes 10 minutes. I exfoliate at night and may shave, if required. Shower with a shampoo takes 20 minutes. Unless I’m going out, I let my hair air dry, so that can take an hour or so. With a hair dryer, add another 20 mins.
If the hair dryer didn’t give it away, I’m female.
In the morning, if I’m thinking of the process from getting into the shower to putting on my clothes, plan on 20 minutes. Not all of that is actually in the shower or with the water on… but I’ll admit that I use the morning shower as a way to loosen up stiff back and shoulder muscles. It’s one of my few luxuries of the day and I’m not rushing it!
Female.
It takes me forever. I almost always wash my hair when I shower but on the rare occasions when I don’t, it still takes longer than most. I wash twice (once with soap, second with a loofah and body wash). Wash and exfoliate the face. Give my toenails a good scrub with a nail brush and run a pumice-like thing over the rough skin on my heels.
When I get out and am dry but still a bit damp I use a body moisturiser. Then continue the facial skincare routine + deodorant.
Lastly (and this is part of my showering routine every day) I squeegee the glass shower recess and wipe down the tiles and tiled floor of the shower.
I don’t know. I’ve never taken a shower and not washed my hair. I didn’t realize anyone did.
15 minutes from entering the bathroom until leaving assuming I shampoo.
Just washing the body? 3 minutes? I can’t imagine it would take much longer than that. Of course, usually I am shaving various part of my body, shampooing, conditioning or deep conditioning my hair and those all take varying amounts of time.
Female, if that wasn’t clear.
About three minutes for me. My standard routine is 20 minutes from waking up to walking out the door perfectly coiffed including eating breakfast. I can do it in less than 10 if I hit the snooze button and have to. I don’t understand why shampooing your hair adds so much time for so many people. I kind of get it if you have unusually long hair but I just slap some shampoo on the top of my head, swirl it around and stick my head under the nozzle to rinse well while I go about washing everything else. I don’t save every day anymore but that only takes 1 - 2 minutes depending on how much stubble I have to get rid off.
What does your morning routine consist of? A morning defecation, oral hygiene, shower and breakfast?
A shower, getting dried off and getting dressed is 15 minutes for me. I’m not sure how people do it in 5.
I’m a guy. I can wash completely (including shampooing & rinsing my hair) in 3 minutes if I don’t dawdle. However, I usually dawdle…so, 10 minutes or more, usually.
