There’s a new Jack in the Box ad. So new I can’t find a video link.
Anyway, in the ad he’s home visiting his parents. He’s at the kitchen table talking to his mom. After their talk a door opens and Jack’s dad looks down and says to his wife, “Call the doctor, it’s been more than four hours.” Jack replies, “Uh, I’ve gotta go.”
Right after watching it my wife said she thought the ad wouldn’t last very long. I’m inclined to agree. It’s pretty risque for American broadcast television.
So, do you think it will die a quick death, or stick around for a little while?
I think it’ll stick around a while. Remember the earlier visit to his parents when his mom was trying to get him to put an item on the menu? She closed with, “Have I ever told you how difficult your birth was?”
The mental image of a normal woman pushing out a beach ball sized head was every bit as “inappropriate” as the Viagra joke and they played that one to death.
I never gave that ad much thought before, but it is pretty funny now that I think about it. Hopefully this ad will play for the standard length of time. But they shouldn’t play it for too long. A lot of commercials seem overplayed these days.
