How long will this ad last?

There’s a new Jack in the Box ad. So new I can’t find a video link.

Anyway, in the ad he’s home visiting his parents. He’s at the kitchen table talking to his mom. After their talk a door opens and Jack’s dad looks down and says to his wife, “Call the doctor, it’s been more than four hours.” Jack replies, “Uh, I’ve gotta go.”

Right after watching it my wife said she thought the ad wouldn’t last very long. I’m inclined to agree. It’s pretty risque for American broadcast television.

So, do you think it will die a quick death, or stick around for a little while?

Not sure, really, but what what the heck menu item is being advertised here? Foot-long hot dogs?

 I didn’t pay attention to much of the commercial other than the Viagra joke at the end.

Maybe the writer thought he was making an ad for Jackin’ the Box.

That’s hilarious. I’m going to be laughing for a while now. But not for four hours.

I think it’ll stick around a while. Remember the earlier visit to his parents when his mom was trying to get him to put an item on the menu? She closed with, “Have I ever told you how difficult your birth was?”

The mental image of a normal woman pushing out a beach ball sized head was every bit as “inappropriate” as the Viagra joke and they played that one to death.

I never gave that ad much thought before, but it is pretty funny now that I think about it. Hopefully this ad will play for the standard length of time. But they shouldn’t play it for too long. A lot of commercials seem overplayed these days.

Finally, Here’s the ad if you haven’t seen it.

The line is spoken by the father about himself, not Jack, so it probably has no meaning other than a gratuitous joke.

Wait. Are you saying the father would be commenting on Jack’s state of arousal?

Right, the father took Viagra and his erection is lasting longer than four hours. I thought I was clear in the OP, but I apologize if I confused you.
