How many different addresses have you had?

I’m 51. Real long term residences, 6. Two before college, two in the military, and two in the 20 years since.

If you want to count college moves, I went from living at/near school during the session to returning the same house each summer for 4 school years & 3 summers. So that’s 7, but three of those are one of the 6 long-term addresses.

In the military in addition to the 2 long term assignments counted above I had 6 short term addresses for various schools. Two of those 6 were long enough (9+ months) that they could arguably be considered long term also.

So depending on how you want to keep score, somewhere between 6 and 19.

And all but 2 of the 6-or-19 were before my early 30s. Things have slowed a bunch since then. I expect one more move someday, followed by the final move to a box, perhaps preceded by a stint in an old fart’s home.

One.

One of the jobs I applied for required background check including every place I had lived since 1973. Yeah, that was fun.

I came up with 32. Prior to 1973 let’s see… sheesh… I’m estimating 45 for a grand total.

At the age of 56, I’ve had 8 addresses.

  1. I’m 42.
  1. I’m 30. That includes four dorm rooms, and an ill-fated apartment arrangement that lasted two weeks.

7 addresses, I’m 30 yrs old. Sadly they have all been in the same small town in Wisconsin.

About 30 different addresses in 8 countries… (US, UAE, Georgia, Germany, Czech Republic, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand). Like the poster above, I define “living” as being somewhere long enough to receive mail.

Somewhere between 20 and 23. Out of these, 17 of these were before I moved out from my parents’ place. They moved a LOT.

I don’t recommend it, really.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner.

2 with parents before college.
11 during college.
2 since getting married. Been in the current place for 14 years.

So, a total of 15. I’m 47.

My parents lived a couple of places after I was born, but before I was two. I have no memory, so I’m not counting them. Other than that I’ve had a permanent residence at 4 addresses and a temporary one where I worked at a camp for the summer.

I’m going with 4.

I’ve lived at nine different locations if I don’t count college addresses, thirteen if I do.
Two different places I lived had their addresses changed by the post office at least once while I lived there.
I be 49.

Or loser, maybe . . . the view from this window just doesn’t seem to change much! I’ve watched the tree grow, but otherwise

Shit, I had to go through my diaries for this one.

First 15 years of my life–9 places.
15-28 (married years)–15 places.
28 - present–4 places

28, and I’m 55.

Hmmm…lessee…

1 City I was born in.
+
3 Town I grew up in. (One of those twice.)
+
4 City I live in now. (Two twice.)
+
1 In university. (Lived in 2 different rooms, but the same dorm.)

So…9, but I’ve moved more times than that.

21 if you don’t count boarding school or college, 23 if you do. I turned 40 this year.

The longest I ever lived anywhere uninterrupted was the first 6 years. After that, there was the constant packing/unpacking of dormitory living followed by summers mostly at home.

All addresses were here in the US, in 5 states: NH, MA, SC, NC, and CO.

This is why I love our modern world. You know what I do when I need a list of everywhere I’ve lived?

I go check my account on Amazon. They store everything I’ve ever used as a shipping address. It’s awesome.

Age 51 here.

So that’s 15 places. Huh, I didn’t realize there were so many - this has been educational!

This is why I am glad you are on the boards. Cause this was a great idea.

Course at my work, they block Amazon - but it’s on my phone and it doesn’t have every place - just some of them.

I actually created a document on my jump drive that had the past 12 years worth of addresses (the most I’ve had to recreate) that I add to as needed.
